i know some players use new heads like the razer pros and such, but i have never seen anyone use a deuce, swerve, pulse, truth, and a few others. maybe its just me
do they think that certain heads suck or what?

They can being using the same head (or type) since they've been at that school because they like it and see no reason for changing and it depends on if they're sponsored or not, and if so by who.
well most use their sponsor euqipment and thats not true ive seen pulses, truths and swerves, but i havent seen deuces i think it is because they're weak and college players would break them very easily
Pulse:

A couple of players on maryland use Deuces. A few players for Delaware use Truths..It's all preference... Newer doesn't necessarily mean better

x2 is still fairly popular. i dont know where they get them. but lots of people have them. i think the older heads were made with thicker plastic, making them stronger.

I could find a picture of a college player using every one of those heads you mentioned they didn't, but I'm just too lazy. But seriously, they use what they prefer.

They use what got them there. I know a few hockey players who get free hockey skates in college from certain brands, but use other types. If something has led you to great success, why change?

a lot of college players choose heads that have been time tested and proven to be functional just because that's more important than having the flashiest new thing. Some get the new stuff, and some of the new stuff is great, but nothing's wrong with protons and x2's and cybers, so why not use them?

It's all a matter of preference. Many kids today think that just because something is newer that its automatically better. Is the Razer Pro that much better than a Razer? Not really, each has its own advantages over the other, much like with the evo/evo pro and revo/revo pro. But just like D Bay said, if you're used to something, why change it? I've been playing with my eclipse for the past 3 years, two of which have been in college. Sure I've played around with several different heads (sentinel, guardian, etc) but I haven't found anything in any other head I've used to make me change the stick I use.

I sometimes do these 1 on 1 sessions with this all-american middie from Virginia, he uses a Warrior Barracuda, shallow mesh pocket, and stock shaft that says 'Barracuda' on it.
He can rip 90mph+ from the top of the box to any corner he want, and can fake and everything. . . basically with the oldest crappiest stick out.
It's not the wand, it's the wizard.

apparently i am too then i dont have a ballstop on my PP and they dont come with one so i guess were both just to lazy to get one and cut it down for the specific size of the PP. what is his shooting string settup 2 U's and a straight i think, ive been trying to find a good setup for my PP.

I was just abour to say that, does anyone notice matt danowski plays with and edge , alot of players use protons, the college palyers understand that the next greatest innovation isnt going to make them a God. Sorry about my mini rant

I don't see 'Cuse sporting black, esp in their gloves. I'm pretty sure it's navy blue.

with college teams equipment wise you could use any head you want, but the shaft must be your sponsors. for cleats if you dont use your sponsors cleats you must tape up the logos. everything else like pads must be your sponsors, but there isn't that much of a differance between your own pads and your sponsors pads. but for sticks i remembered when Mike Powell played at cuse he always used a regular edge, nothing special like a Cyber or Matrix, and i dont blame him because Edge's are damn good heads

ive seen alot of colege players use a variety of sticks. i guess it all comes down to preference and what they're used to. sponsorship could play a role in their selection of their sticks but ive seen colege players that are sponsored by stx and a guy on the team uses an e3. i read further up that they use what got them there so they figure its the best stick for them so they stick with it. thats what i would do if i was playing colege.

dude you are so wrong in every department except the mike powell thing. he also used an edge for like a year maybe 2 before he switched to a razer and then the finalizer. you can use any shaft you like in college regardless of sponsor, same goes for the cleats and pads.
