Do players get a discount on there equipment, shafts and heads in college or does it all have to do if you have a sponser or not?
And also do they get there heads strung for free?

many college players will get things like the team helmets and gloves for free.
Ask Xeclipse, he'll know.

I was told that they have to pay for their sticks but it only costs them like .99 cents so i mean **** if i could get an E3 on any titanium for .99 cents i would have a heart attack

it all depends on the school. my one friends school is sponsered by warrior but he uses brine vapors and he told me one he got like 3 for $10. getting your stick stung for free shouldn't be a big deal if you know a guy on a team to do it for you.

No. We're partially sponsored by Brine. Everybody gets 2 heads and a shaft and then replacements if they break. Helmets and gloves are team issue. We also get arm guards, shoulder pads, cleats, turfs, practice shorts, practice shirt, reversible, other clothes, Boathouse stuff.
I got 2 Moneys but I traded them in for Eclipses since I'm really anal about the stick I use.
Do you go to a D-1 school?

It depends on the sponsorships between the school program and the equipment manufactor. Like Xeclipse19 said, most DI schools have contracts with companies giving each player 2 heads and 2 shafts. All equipment (such as gloves, arm pads, etc) is also a choice, and helmets are usually team issued.
However say on a club level, if I remember correctly, Univ of Michigan gets all their Warrior gear at a discounted price. Few years ago, their faceoff midfielder was saying he can get top end sticks for about half the cost. I'm not sure if they still do that, but it makes some kind of sense.

for the last two years...
we would get everything team issued (the team/school owns it so you have to give it back). but what you can do is just keep it for the summer or just keep the gloves or something. what usually happens is that schools take the helmets and equipment and send it back in to get fixed. if you have gloves with the palms ripped out, they would re palm them and send them back to the school.
my freshman year we had everything team issued but we got to keep our apparel and then one free stick head that we kept. shafts and cleats we had to buy
my sophomore year we got free cleats and then everything else was school issued. we had to buy our own sticks as well. i left at semester so i'm not sure if they will keep anything.
but usually when a school issues you stuff as a freshman or sophomore, you keep it for 3 or 4 years and by then they just update the equipment so you can either keep what you had or just by it really cheap.

my HS does similar with equipment. we get practice shorts, pinny, sweatpants, and this weird tshirt for free, and CPX and Glads, at the ned of the season, we can buy them for a discount. Also, i hook a lot of guys up at the store i work at, so befriend a sales person at a LAx store. I know that The store is new, so i got my manager in touch with my coach, and we get a lot of balls and paint, tape, cones, and nets for real cheap.

about the head strung free...im pretty sure that most college teams have a stick doctor who strings all of the sticks

I used to string every stick on my college team, but now I have an "apprentice" (I'm sure he'll read this too, so I'll let you all know he's really good) who helps me string everyone's stick, but we don't do it for free anymore. Teammates start to take advantage of favors and at some point, you have to end the freebies. I heard that Kevin Boland used to string up all of the sticks used at Hopkins when he played there (I bet he probably still does) and sometimes team equipment managers string up sticks, but I don't know if too many have time for that.

Depends on what level you're on and who the person is. Some people have been stringing since they picked up a stick so know what they like and know how to string a mean stick. There's only a few players on my team who know how to string a decent stick. Out of 3 goalies, I'm the only one who knows how to string a stick well. Our goalie coach strings the other 2 goalies' sticks.
What school do you play for?

Yeah, one of my coaches went to UMBC and he told me they gave him a big box of stuff. Helmets, gloves, arm pads, SP's, windbreakers, practice shorts, pennies, 2 sets of home game jerseys, 2 sets of away game jerseys, winter jacket, lightweight jacket, sweatshirt, sweatpants, baseball cap, winter cap, 2 shafts of choice, and 2 heads of choice. This is all once you're on the actual roster.

last summer kyle harrison worked at this camp i was at and he spent alot of 1on1 time with me and he told me at Hopkins there is just a big room and whenever you need a new head or shaft and shorts or something you just go in and take whatever you want.
