All the companies try to come out with new "innovations" throughout the years. Some of these work, while others are labeled as "gimmicks" and flop. What are your favorites from the last couple years?

I said supafly fingers, I think it was one of the few things listed that actually did anything...

supafly fingers and thumbs are my favorite, a great addition to gloves (as well as the bronx knuckles protection, so the whole of the supercrosse in general) as well as the floating cuffs like the macs/freaks/defts and it's wraparound cousin on the insanity.

rubber grip on shaft swizzle?
I think the vote should go to Harrow instead for there success in Composite shafts and the rubber grip.

Also the floating wrist gaurd on warrior gloves (superstar II, superfreak, Mac daddies) They offer more protection on your wrist without sacrificing flexibility.

I haven't worn supercrosses, and I was wondering what the 'supafly' fingers do for you. A kid on my team has supercrosses, but all I know is what they look like.
It's not on the list, but I'd say the BEST innovations in the sport of lacrosse have to be:
1) Plastic heads and metal shafts
2) Offset heads
3) Mesh
4) Open sidewalls

I voted for Supafly fingers, but the flared sidewalls were in a close second. I love the supafly thumb on my Defts, as well as the flared sidewalls on my razer pro.

I was tied between supafly fingers and flared sidewalls. I voted flared sidewalls though. I should have voted for the supafly fingers.

I voted for Supafly fingers. I'm a goalie, too. I love the flared sidewalls of the (1st generation) Razer, but it seemed like I saw too many teammates drop passes that hit the inside of the flared sidewall, otherwise, I would have voted for that.

I went for the insanity spacers...
with the supafly fingers it still left a space to get whacked...
with the spacers done like an accordian...there is great protection of your joints all the time...i think this is a subtle yet lasting gimmick...more gloves will have these or ripoffs of these...

Flared sidewalls. I love my blade and I loved the flared Razer I had back in the day. If only the blade/razers scoop was better, I would have the perfect head.

I knew there were others, like the floating wrist cuff, but I couldn't think of any at the time, so thats what the other button is for.

I never posted my fav. I would have to say supafly fingers. I love the thumb on my defts.

flared sidewalls def i love the blade but i keep breakin mine in winter :(
p.s. crankshaft/straight head (crankshaft w/ kannon) would be better said as debeer bent with phantom since the kannon is on-set

knuckle space make the insanity on of the most protective glove and pretty flexible too

I don't consider the floating cuff a 'gimmick' as there is an obvious pragmatic protective component in the construction improvement. The crankshaft, though, is an improved training gimmick for the younger player, as the ball is felt more in the cradling process, thereby increasing the efficacy of the wrist motion and cradle awareness.

So its an innovation. Notice, Innovation/gimmick
I voted grip. Its so much better than tape.

i like the supafly fingers, but when i found out the day i was about to buy supercrosse for team gloves, we changed to defts. wich i must say, the floating cuff is another gimmick you forgot.

i had to say the supafly fingers. i have defts and they are the best gloves i have ever used. they also incorporate the floating cuff wrist gaurd mentioned before. great gloves.

I said the supafly fingers before I read through the whole thing.
But then I kept reading and I realized I also like the flared sidewalls of my favorite head, the blade.
I would say I like them both equally

knuckle spacers in my opinion, followed by the fingers. the crankshaft, is an ancient idea, guys on my college team would bend shafts like that, and that was back in the 80s

I voted supafly fingers, my team has custom vent x's and they're awesome. The added protection when you bend your fingers is great, I just wish they put them on the thumbs.

if ur gonna put the swizzle grip as a gimmick then put the harrow shafts its the same thing and the swizzle isnt a gimmick it is really good

I just used the swizzle as an example. Harrows can go there too. I don't care.

"Liquidmetal". Head used it for tennis racquets. Bull ****. I broke 4 frames on serves and it was nothing but graphite and plastic. It doesn't exist. I wasn't supposed to say anything until last week when my sponsorship ended.

superfly fingers defiantly because everything elsejust makes the stick/gear look cool.
Reflex band = suxs.

I have no idea how offset heads are ahead of mesh.
if you spin the stick or cradle or watever the head always wants to go back to its original position
i picked the flared side walls only because i have no idea what it dose, and that its ugly as hell :chuckle:

Yea supaflys for sure. I wouldn't necessarily call that a gimmick though. Reflex bands--now thats a gimmick. Supafly fingers are more of an innovation.

the sidewalls, swizzle and supafly were quite close, but it came down to the supafly. they were just sick nasty. everyone on my team freaked out about the feel of the swizzle. its like baby powder. it was grand, but supafly's win

Because it has a questionable option/feature, it is a waste?
The Swerve has a great pinch and flexibility.
P.S. It's endorsed by Mikey Powell!!! OMG!!! Can't Beat That!!! :chuckle:

the flared sidewalls i think was the best thing. also another option that should be up there is the kevalar coating on shaftsi would consider that a gimmick.
