For both exercises teh primary movers are upper back, especially lats, shoulders and biceps.
Pull ups are done with an overhand grip (palms away), and put more focus on your upper back

chinups are done with an underhand grip (palms towards you), and the focus moves more to your biceps than pullups

Buckwyld pretty much nailed it. Chinups are easier to do because they involve the bicepts more, while pullups are harder.

i agree buckwyld nailed it, but jsut to add
in relation to lax, its better to do pull ups because they work your back (u can get a good amount of power increase if u streghthen this area) on ur shot

that sentence didnt make sense but its a good area to work for most atheletic things but especially lax
that and the torso/upper legs

bicepts are more of a beach muscle if u ask me

this isn't sarcasm or anything, but how do they have an effect in wrestling? i know pretty much nothing about wrestling, but i just cant imagine when the motion that you use your biceps in would have much of an effect in pretty much any sport.
It's also weird because all my friends that wrestler have really small arms.

i wrestle and have small arms too but you can sometimes get away with small arms...but the biceps are critical muscles in wrestling when executing different moves. arm strength helps a lot in wrestling
