alright i searched but it's hard because i don't really know how to describe this...

say i'm running parallel to a guy with my stick (and ball) in the right hand. then he sprints forward and gains some space. i can't for the life of me throw ahead of him so he can catch it. it always lands low and behind him so he has to put his stick behind him to catch it. this is really bad i figure because anytime he's running forward and not looking in the same direction he's going to get laid out. someone help me out here...this is, along with the next thing i'm going to bring up, the only thing that's holding my stickwork back.

the second thing is, how would one go about throwing higher? it might be the stick but some other guys threw around with it and their passes are fine. is there some kind of wrist snap i should be working on? should i pull harder on the bottom hand or what?

when you go to throw it to him, point the but end of your stick ahead of him

Throwing ahead is just like a quarterback throwing a pass to his reciever. You had to make sure you're throwing to a spot where he'll be when the pass gets there, not where he is at that moment. It takes some practice, but if you work on it a while you'll be able to get it down.

Throwing higher, that ssomething that is definitely not easy to explain. Just try to release the ball at a higher point than you normally would.

basically lead him, and relase higher. that should do the trick. really, the best help you can get, is getting a friend and practicing. stay after practice one day, and have someone go for ahead practices, and figure it out. Honestly, i think a little practice would do HUGE amounts of help

it's not that you're throwing the ball behind him at his feet necessarily.. you're making a good pass to his stick... it's just that he's running away from you and you have to lead him.. like other's have said... It takes a little feel to figure out how far ahead of someone you need to throw the ball, but you'll get there

If you can get into a gym, or a place that has a flat wall, run up and down it and throw ahead of you. Once you get the hang of it, you'll be passing to yourself as you're running.

remember when your leading someone with a pass. the harder you throw the pass the the easier it is to throw the pass. think about it. if you throw a bloop pass youll have to throw like 5 feet ahead of him, but if you were to throw a shot pass (very hard pass) all you have to do is throw a few inches in front of him.

Ask your coach to run an "OTS (over the shoulder)" drill in practice. You can find directions on doing one here: click me to improve your OTS (http://www.laxmania.com/drills/drill2.html)

run at the same speed as he is, so that its a constant distance. otherwise, it is hard running different speed and trying to judge HIS speed
