All I could say is wow after reading about it...
I mean some of us have played with different broken or fractured bones...but a back...insane...
I actually read this article before coach Lasagne's column (his is ALWAYS the best IMHO)...
as I read it I wondered what I would do in that situation...
keep playing and finish out the year on my terms as he did and risk major issues if more damage was done
stop playing and get the surgery asap knowing i might never play lax again...

So...Pop quiz hotshot. You've got a fractured vertebrae. Your team has a good shot to go far in teh NCAA tournament. Surgery might mean never playing again. What do you do!? ...What do you do?!?!

well first of all technicaly a stress fracture could be considered a break but in most cases not if he truely had a broken back he wouldnt be able to do pretty much anything. but that is beside the point, this article realy motivated me to stop being so lazy and actualy start trying my hardest and the fact that he did play with that kind of injury is amazing. my brother had to quit baseball the sport that he had loved his entire life because of an injury like this and i think its amazing that he could fight through that sort of pain cause ive witnessed first hand wat it does to people.

I will post something tomorrow about the girl with the deafness...but having a deaf kid on my team really motivated me...
seeing players like this that can play well despite big odds really should motivate you to do even better...

Yeah, I really liked the article about the deaf goalie. That would be really hard I think to get used to, especially on the lacrosse field.
