One of our best Midfielders is 6' 3"ish (high school team)...
Though if you see your Defense are lacking in power, then maybe you could switch, if you want to...
If you find you have better then par stick skills, stay with the offensive squad, or maybe look into LSM.

Ehhhhh I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. Although offensemen should have good stick skills, often times the defensemen need to have stick skills that are as good or better than the offensemen because they need to be 100% comfortable with a longer stick.

i think you should get a d-pole and try it out a little this year. if you are good/like it sticj with it in HS. i'm 6'2 as a freshmen in HS and i was 6 foot in middle school and i played d my whole career. i say go for it

well, the real question is how well you run. D can afford to be a bit slower (though not too much) than middie/attack. however, that sive is a great advantage on O, for hding the stick, and the such

play D, you will be able to throw some checks that other guys cant. plus if you fill out your frame with muscle you will get recruiting looks just because you are the height and weight they are looking for in a defenseman.

I say dabble with a longpole, maybe see if you like it, but keep playing attack. Colleges love guys who can play just about anything. Two of the best players that I know of in my town who both were offered college scholarships for lacrosse (one took one to 'cuse, the other declined one to UVA for a full-ride to UNC for football) could weild a long pole just as well as they could a short pole. You have size for sure, which basically makes you a good fit for any position. Obviously a person of your stature is more commonly associated with defense, but there are also a lot of big, good attackmen out there. Ian Dingman of Navy is 6-4, 260 lbs and plays attack.

Let your desire dictate where you play. Don't let you size determine where you play. You will enjoy the game a lot longer that way.

I'm 6'3 210 and I play where it helps my team the most. Sometimes its at D or LSM, other times its at mid or even in the net. In general, though, I think it might be a good idea to work in some longpole, since that (might) be the best route for the most recruitment attention. That's a general claim--I've never seen you play, or anything...

I would say stay on offense...a lot of d guys will not be able to body up on you as well as they can on a shorter player. plus the taller you are the more reach you have to extend your arms and let it RIPPPPP.

Dude i would say deff stay on mid. If you are 160 and 6'2 in 8th grade you will be a beast in High School...a lot of high schools are now looking for the bigger taller and faster kids to play off. positions over the sick stick skills...kinda ruins the game but its good for you. If you don't have that good of stick skills you will still be able charge through a lot of kids and if you are tall you will be able to get a lot of though passes and good angles on shots.
