in u-19 rules there's no rules as of yet in canada, doubt there will be since we just play the game and forget about pinch and all that crap here......

but i dunno bout us lax?

Well.. i think there was a HUGE discussion on it before, where someone made like a 2 page report on his theis blah blah.. so search for warrior powermaster in search thing
I think its legal unless the ref sees youre hurting a lot of people with hte weight of the stick... because its kinda dangerous playing with something like 3 times or whatever heavier than a normal stick

yea what he said

Yea right you would break someones arm with that stick... al though the refs would just prolly think your all strong but after the second arm you break hell prolly call you on a slash

man that would be great... a minute in the box for maiming one of their players so they cant return to the game... sometimes i wish we could check like that in our games...

you're not allowed to use a piece of equipment with the intent to injure someone. Since I don't think the powermaster would serve any other purpse in a game other than to hurt someone, I think it would probably be declared illegal. But that depends on the refs also.

why would you want to play with it..it puts you at sucha disadvantage..the lighter ..the better..forget all that hurting ****...hurt em with with your good play...not your dirty fouls..

LatinBabe how can you play so dirty... hurting isnt the point of lacrosse...

LatinBabe

im not allowed to hit people... its not in girls lax...

but then all of a sudden i thought of the possibilities when danger was mentioned...

well, believe me... you wont here about a lax girl from houston brutally killing the opposition during a game so she could go 1 on 1 with the goalie every time she gets the ball. :concerned

I looked at the NCAA rulebook, it doesn't say anything about the weight of your shaft. I also don't see why you would want to use a heavy shaft in a game, but according to this, knock yourself out.

KNOCK YOURSELF OUT! HA!

Anyways, it's not illegal for play. It does put you at a disadvantage, but it will make your checks harder. A check is basically trying to jar the ball out of your opponents pocket, so the heavier the stick, the bigger the motion. If you start swinging a stick with reckless abandonment, it's a slash no matter if you've got a powermaster or a shaft made out of marshmellows.

If your beast enough that your abilities don't suffer, go for it...

I'm going to work with it along with my little brother (another D) over the summer. I'm thinking it'll be good for long passes (as is doing them with a shorty) and checking, although you'd have to either trick an attackman to get 'em to do one on one's with you. Also, dodges and cradling will be greatly improved, just from messing around with it. The good thing about it is that you can take your game head and put it on there, so when doing quicksticks against a wall, you won't have to adjust for another head.

the sad part is... your probably right. girls lax is getting much more physical and we havnt mandated equipment yet that would protect us from it. currently i come home from games with a red/purple slash mark on my arm almost everytime... not to mention how many more times i got hits in the head since goggles were mandated...

lol...

now back to me... well... :agree

lol...

theKOB is right... you would have to trick an attackman to practice with you... cus im pretty sure he wont be too willing to risk getting even his titanium shaft bent like crazy just so you can practice chacking and long passes.

Forget the shafts, I'd be worried about what was left of my arms...

Also, if anyone needs help tricking them, I've found the label scratches off fairly easily, although it is about as inconspicuous as a parking cone...

just imagine shattering three attack mens arms and then the opposing team calls a stick check. when the ref walks over to grab you stick and expects it to be a titan or a db803 like every one elses he drops it on his foot from not expecting the weight. when he realizes that your using a poswer master filled with sand... uh-oh. :agree

I gotta tell you, the more I use it the more I like it, especially when I go back to my titanium long pole....

LatinBabe
04-19-2004, 11:17 AM
now fill it with cement powder... and spend a few hours doing long passes! your titanium pole will look mighty friendly :agree

I'm definitely thinking about it...although I haven't quite worked out the logistics. Also, would cement dry in an enclosed space?

With summer coming up, I just might try it...

I was also under the impression the shaft was illegal. I know i've read it is "not for game play" in a bunch of catalogs, etc.

LatinBabe

as long as you dont live in a swamp i dont think cement poweder drying would be a problem. here in texas we fill our shafts with cement powder during off-season, and have yet to have any probs with it.

so the powermaster isnt filled in completely? wow

LatinBabe

its just cast iron instead of a lighter metal. if it was solid it wold weigh a ton!

Are you talking about filling it with cement or just dry cement powder? I was talking about pouring mixed cement into the shaft...

the Powermaster's not as heavy as I expected.

LatinBabe

we use cement powder... but if your planning on keeping it heavy then you can mix it.

btw... its cast iron... i read up on it.
