I'm representing Trinity School at Meadow View, definitely one of the schools on the lower end of the totem pole. But, we have a very young and competitive team on the rise (our JV is basically our Varsity). Hopefully you guys will see more of us in the next 2/3 years and we'll keep the games more interesting. Who on TLF is representing Virginia Private Schools D2?

trinity is in falls church, about 3 miles from Bishop O'Connell. We play a variety of teams, some WCAC like Bishop Ireton and Paul VI. A lot of fairfax area public schools like JEB Stuart, George Mason, and Falls Church. We play some VA D2 schools like Wakefield, Flint Hill, and we'll be seing Potomac school this week.

NSA is still in D2. NSA lost their two stud players to graduation(both will be playing at Hampden syndey). Covenants coach is taking a year off, but will return for the 2008 season. Highalnd will be tough, but also lost some key players to graduation. Notre Dame lost something like 7 or 8 seniors and will be a young team, but do return their entire starting attack and 1st midfield line.

I don't see Bishop Sullivan doing much. They weren't a very strong squad last year. Anyways, I think that the usual teams will prevail. Top 4 this season will be NSA, NDA, Covenant, and Flint Hill. 5th will be Highland, and 6-8 are up for grabs. I think Christchurch, Wakefield, VES, and Benedictine will be the top 4 contenders for the last 4 spots.

Highland lost in the finals to Covenant. For a young team, they had a remarkable season. Look for thier almost complete returning offense to be strong, defense could be a weakeness.

There has been talk about restructuring DI, DII, and DII. The concept would be to move the DII teams into DI that have about 140+- boys in the school. It will take the VISLA into a program similair to how VA independent school soccer is run.

This will create alot of interesting conversation. If that criteria is used--schools like NSA, VES, Covenant, Benedictine, Christ Church, NDA, Blue Ridge, etc(there are probably more-just not sure of everyones enrollment) will all go DI.

How will these schools compete will rosters of only 22-25 with the big boys rosters of 35-40+? And if these DII schools have baseball teams, the boys enrollment number is back to 120.

And should Highland be excluded from DI becasue of their enrollment numbers are lower, but not by much? Highland continues to field a great team, year in and year out, because of great coaching and dedciation to its lacrosse program.

Well if you have a superior lacrosse program that is consistantly good, then there's no reason for them to be in DII. What's the point in blowing out every team you play (Covenant, NDA, NSA)? Last year, Covenant outscored DII opponents roughly 200-67. They played two DI teams, and went 1-1 beating Woodberry forest 14-10 and losing to STAB 8-14. NSA also went 1-1 vs. DI schools.

if your talking about at wakefield he is our new goalie because 1 our old goalie broke his hand last season and has not been the same and our old goalie has trouble staying academically elgible during the season

I can't see Wakefield being #1.. It'll be NDA and Covenant in the top 2. That won't change at all. Flint Hill, Highland, NSA, and Wakefield will hold 3-6, and 7 and 8 will be up for grabs. That's my new prediction.
