I'm a non-certified ref in Wisconsin. I did a lot of reffing of collegiate and club games in the past. Now I'm asked to ref high school games (the sport is growing in Wisconsin).
Are there any major rule differences between high school and college lacrosse?
Also, I have the 2003 NCAA rules of lacrosse. Is there a link with high school rules?
Thanks,
Mike

mike they vary by state. you should find out what rules your association is using and get a copy. i'm suprised that the assigning official didnt give you a copy.

Some states use NCAA but if Wisconsin is using NFHS then you'll need to buy a NFHS rule from www.nfhs.org because they do not have the rules online.
Off the top of my head the main differences are:
-If goalie is penalized he recieves a 1 minute free warmup officials timeout.
-Mouth piece is 1 minute USC (Not conudct foul)
-SIze of field
-12 min instead of 15min quarters.
-Timeout can be called anywhere on the field
-Lead by 10 or more goals changes it to a running clock in the second half.

That should just be an illegal equipment foul and not USC. (Illegal procedure in NCAA.)

Just so you know, this list is not even CLOSE to being all of the differences. Every time I looked at the NFHS rulebook last year I found a different difference, so to speak. I compiled a list, but it isn't in a format well-suited to posting. I can e-mail you a .pdf if you like. It was accurate as of last year; I haven't seen this year's NFHS rulebook, since I (thankfully) moved somewhere that uses NCAA rules for high school.
