Duke cover - season canceled.
SU Freshmen cover - lost to Hobart 1-4 first time since '75!
Please let the US National team win!
You forgot,
US Women's Team - heavily favored and playing on home turf but lost to Australia this past summer
(Technically, only two of the players appeared on the cover, but the cover story was about the US Team as a whole.)

wow. thats kinda weird. this should be in the magazine forum btw. and i really hope that team canada isnt featured on there!!!

Cover jinx is meant to refer to losing a game after being placed on the front of the cover...so the SU Freshmen cover falls under that, but the Duke rape scandal really doesn't. so one instance doesn't count as a cover jinx.

Haha, just what i was thinking. And that's a good point, nativeson. But that's like 3 out of fifty that have been jinxed, so I'm not worried.

true, but usually it refers to the game following being placed on the cover. We can call the Duke thing the Madden jinx b/c most people who get on the cover (eddie george, Donovan McNabb) get hurt and miss most of the season or just play flat out awful all season.
