what exactly is the NLL, i have seen and know about the MLL
but i don't know anything about the NLL. From what other people have said in previous threads i think it is a box lacrosse league. Is it? and what are some teams they have so maybe i could catch a game.

The National Lacrosse League is a box lacrosse league that has been around since 1987, under other incarnations. The names that the NLL has lived under are the "Eagle Pro Box League", and "Major Indoor Lacrosse League". The league as it stands now consists of 12 active teams residing in the following cities:

Philadelphia, PA
Toronto, Ontario (Canada)
Buffalo, NY
Rochester, NY
New York City, NY
San Jose, CA
Denver, CO
Vancouver, BC (Canada)
Columbus, OH
East Ruthorford, NJ (may move)
Ottawa, Ontario (Canada)
Calgary, Alberta (Canada)

The closest team to you, BigOHlax, is the Columbus Landsharks. They have a great young team, who given maybe a solid scorer could be a champion. I saw them the last two years in Philly, and they gave the Wings a run for their money. Stay tuned though, as the Landsharks have been involved in a few rumors about moving teams. But while they are one of the more rumored teams, many rumors include them staying in Ohio.

Hope that answers your question! Don't hesitate to PM me if you have any other questions. And be sure to check out www.nll.com if you wish to keep up with the league.

bigOHlax, where in ohio do u live? i live near toledo, and we have an NLL team ourselves, rite in columbus. just wundering, but most lax fans in ohio prolly know that, thats all. but itll prolly still be there for next season, so try to get friends and family to go see them, i do the same during the season, b/c its really up to the fans on how well theyll do w/ attendence. and yeah, they arent a bad team at all, all they need is a good scorer, thats rite. heck bigOHlax, u can email me or IM me and when the season starts, we'll get a huge group to go down there. its a nice area too:agree

8-Ball, change that might to definitely. Because if the L-sharks don't go to Arizona, they will fold. For some reason, the local deal the BlueJakets (NHL) were trying to work to buy the NLL franchise, didn't go through. So, now we in the NLL are hoping that Wayne Gretzky will pull this deal out, and will keep the franchise alive.

Also, the much rumored, but very quiet Ottawa Rebel, are rumored to go to London, Ontario. This move would help them survive for another season, but wouldn't be the cure-all they need. Like putting a Band-Aid on a gaping wound.

Even though my site is a totally Wings site, you can root for whatever team you wish. There will be as much NLL news on the site as I can get on there. When the season starts, that site will explode with info. We have so many ties right now to get things started, that many people will actually wonder why you're rooting for the Arizona Landsharks (or will it be SANDsharks instead?).

And BigOHlax, the whole reason why the Landsharks are getting out of town is that the ownership groups NEVER ADVERTISED THE TEAM!!!! If you can actually believe that there really is an owner out there who doesn't want to see their team succeed, then you can understand the owner of the Landsharks was just that. Mike Gongas (the owner) also owns the New York Saints. That team is in worse dire-straights than the L-sharks, and THEY'RE IN NEW YORK, FOR GOD'S SAKE! Don't feel bad BigOHlax, if you can wait a couple years, you should see another team in your area. Columbus I don't believe was a failed experiment, I just think the ownership group has to be ready to tell people they are actually there. The cities in your area that could become active in the next few years, would be:

Columbus
Cleveland
Detroit

Don't give up yet BigOHlax....it may take some time, but you will get to enjoy box-lax yet!!!!

yeah i just heard about them moving or folding for sure. i have high hopes that in a couple years time there will prolly be another team there. its just the ownership really screwed them over. other wise it wouldve been very successful. but nothing we can do now, i just hope sumthing comes back this way.

I don't understand why Gongas tried to save them in the first place. It didn't work the firsttime, why would it work again?

The leaue really needs to get these things sorted out.

The url to my website is:

Thank you for the interest! I'm planning on having some more in-depth articles about the NLL up pretty soon (within a month). We have on-going interviews with Wings players and personnel. I don't know if you'll be interested in the Wings, but those interviews are still good reads. (if I must say so myself :p):agree
