i bel;eive it is because you are modfieing equipment to gain an advantage. and it highly unpracticle. and how do you play for?

MIDATTACK it looks bad because I didnt want to do it up really good and find out that I cant use it.

also I dont really care if it stops balls just as it looks like it takes up more space. As much as it is skill its also a mind game. You kinda need to be able to controll where people shoot. Like deterring people away from your weak spots and try to make them shoot to your best spots. It sounds stupid but you might understand If your a goalie

yeah im a goalie and that makes no sense, if i were an attak man i would shoot there because your obviously trying to cover it up.

yaa thats kind of a weird idea........i agree with laxgoalie. People are just gonna wanna shoot there and by the way if those are supposed to help stop the ball i dont really think it will do any good because the ball will either go thru it or bounce of trhe end and hit your inside pad and go in

or it will just turn the whole stick and go in anyway

I think I saw a rule somewhere stating that you can't add anything to the outside of the head. This might qualify. Anyone have the rulebook handy?

If it wasn't illegal, I can see somene taking advantage of it to string the stick more like an old traditional woodie goal stick and extend the stopping area of the stick but retaining its lightness and flexibility. Who knows, maybe STX might come out in 2006 with a goal stick that has special groves to tie those extra strings to.

But I wouldn't be using hockey laces though...

If its legal but questionable. Use nylons. Then the ref might not see it

I wouldnt use that its dusnt take up that much room and itll bug u if u like to put ur hand down low and also the ball would just go thru that so....

hahaha yes! Nice try though. It just looks so cheap. I do like your method of tape grip. I do the same.

CLA rules (2005)

Rule 6(e) The goalkeeper's stick may be of any desired length but shall not be over 38.1 cm (15") in width. Nothing may be added to or attached to the outside of the stick. The measurement for width to be inside frame measurement.

Sadly, it's illegal.

Wasn't the dumbest idea I've ever seen, and if you strung tight nylons, it might have stopped a few five-hole shots.

As for you goalies - Some dumb-*** attackers (cough, me, cough) will shoot five hole whevever it looks open. It's not always a bad idea to show lots of five-hole, and be prepared to flop and take it away as soon as you suck me into shooting there..
