If you go to http://www.laxpower.com/update06/bingrl/natlccr.php you will see the girls national rankings according to LaxPower.com. It may not be the best ranking system out there, but it will at least give you some idea. This early in the season it may not be quite as accurate as it will be in a few weeks, but you can look at who teams have played and scores, etc by clicking on team names and other links.

They also do boys HS, and mens and womens college rankings. It's kind of interesting to poke around.

Loyola, as you should know, is the No. 1 girls team in Illinois and beat Sycamore last year 8-6 in South Bend. Loyola just finished its annula trip the the East Coast, where althoguh they lost, they were playing extermely tough competition. Loyola and their coach, John Dwyer, do not shy away from anyone. Dwyer has always had girls that are well skilled in the fundamentals and who are smart. They run a D1 style motion offense setting up in a 25 around teh 12 and using cutters, one at a time to find a mismatch or quick dodge for an extar step. Not wanting to give away any secrets, you should know how to defend against such a team and offense. Better have your D well schooled in the esessnce of defending a fast break. LA runs those 10+ times a game.
As for Hisdale Central, take away the two Santulli girls and you eliminate 57% of their offense. Kendall has 16G/14A and her sister, Samantha, has 24G/13A of Hinsdale's 69 total goals. Both change hands quickly moving into the arc, but have a tendency to cradle high, so maybe you wnat to check high and over the head but if you miss you could get dinged by the ref. Enjoy your games against them!
Maybe next time you should log on to the Illinois girls league website, www.ihswla.org and read the stats that are kept for the upper echelon teams.

Good luck, celt!! We aren't playing either team this season, but anyone I've talked to around here says only amazing things. Slide really covered all the main stuff, like you said. Have fun! :)

How do you guys fair against the Illinois teams? That ND clinic should not have been attended by players from Illinois for it was held during the "school year". IHSA Bylaw 3.110 would seem to proscribe participation in such events. Of course, anyone is free to attend such a clinic, or as the state regulatory body puts is, "coaching school", after the end of the school year but before August 1. In Illinois there is a morass of rules to be concerned with, but since lacrosse is an "emerging sport" there is a question as to whether the rules actually apply in detail to such teams, even though the schools state on theEmerging Sports Registration Form that they wil agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the IHSA. Beats me.

never mind, sorry if that post caused trouble, I was just trying to verify that those rumors were false.

we lost both games....we were leading loyola most of the game and our senior defender got tossed out of the game and chaos ensued...hinsdale was our last game and we were the better team...but we played to their level...that was a harder loss...

far as the nd clinic, i won't say anything i'd hate to get anyone in trouble...we have the same issue in ohio, where the ohsaa doesn't sanction girl's lacrosse but they insist on us following their guidelines...i believe they had to make a special dispensation for the national tourney tryouts...

Sycamore last year 8-6 in South Bend. okay so how does anybody beat Sycamore....just watched them manhandle cleveland heights....they are an amazing team....so much skill on offense, they definitely play at a higher level...also they are very physical....
