The one we have waited for... again.
After a full winter season and some of the summer box season I feel I can review this head.
Pictures will be up when my camera isnt dead.
Overview/ Background:
I cam across this head at the local shop for 70 Can. I got it so cheap because it has a minor crack at the throat... a first batch defect. It has been rectified. This crack has no effect what so ever, it just makes the head rattle a little bit. I immediatley fell in love. Stiff, perfect for pinching, thick and good for tricks.
Stiffness
This is a verrrryy stiff head, rivaling the Revo Pro and any MIL head. After a huge pinch its still insanley stiff. Prefect for F/O stiff. Although it is so stiff, it isn't the brittle stiff. There is no warping after a season of Boxla. For field D-Men, this is a dream. Poke checks are very effective and the head won't be breaking anytime soon. Infact I only know one that broke and thats HRod's but Chuck Norris was using it.
9/10
Weight
To me this is a light head. Noodle arms may find it a tad heavy. But still quite light in the 5.7-6.0 ounce range. I also don't care about wieght and neither should you. Once the ball is in the pocket it doesn't matter.
7/10
Pinch
The stock pinch is a great D-Man pinch. Wide but not too wide that you can't cradle. I really liked the factory pinch but I also like box pinched so I pinched it my self. The original Pinch is great for D-men. This head pinches great and doesn't lose stiffness like some heads will; so for attackmen go ahead and pinch it. It will be a perfect head for you.
10/10
Durability
The thick sidewalls and stiff sides, combine to create a tank of a head. If you get a non-first batch head this will last forever unless you are God or Superman or alas even Chuck Norris. The stiffness isn't brittle so it won't snap inhalf and it isn't flexible like an evo pro to warp either. I am impressed if my head lasts a season... this one has lasted longer.
9/10
Scoop: The scoop is nearly identical to the Warrior Pro Series. It doesn't' however have a lip like them. The scoop makes groundballs easier than cutting butter with a hot knife. The scoop doesn't warp, twist or flex on groundballs either so it's more consistent. All in all great scoop.
8/10
Offset
The offset is very offset. Similar to an Edge or E3. However it starts 2 inches or so past the throat and it is very sudden. I like high and mid pockets so this is fine for me. But if you like a low pocket you may not want this head.
N/A it all depends on your pocket preference
Looks
Like a tank. A sexy tank. Brooke Burke naked driving a tank. You get it. Very sexy.
10/10
Miscellaneous
The stringing holes are normal until the offset and wher its pinched the most. Then they have a groove for them to fit in so it doesn't trap. A very good idea. I think it should have gone the entire head.
It has 4 large "Shooter Holes"
And 9 normal holes.
4 bottom string holes pefect for a traditional.
And this is Slinky's h2 review for you
