Im joint coaching 8 & 9 yr olds and want to know what skills, drills and plays i can get the offence doing. This is the 1st yr for most of them playing field lacrosse, most have already played box.

I need to get my attack guys scoring more goals............

Just make sure that they can catch, pass, and shoot equally as well with both hands. It helps out a lot and is one of the most important skills needed for any position.

do a drill that we do at our practice...
there are 4 lines, one top left, one top right, one bottom left, and one bottom right, then start the ball back left and pass it to the man that is top left(be sure they catch with the outside hand and then roll to the other hand when they throw to the next man), then pass to the top right man, then he passes down to the bottom right man and then goes and sets a pick for the top left man who then runs off the pick gets a feed from the man with the ball and then shoots on the cage(you can switch the place the ball starts to practice shooting with the right and left hand)

Go to www.newbasicslacrosse.com. Kevin Sheehan has some drills,(they have appeared in Lacrosse Magazine over the years), that work miracles.
His 2 part series, "Finding Space", that can be found on the US Lacrosse website at www.lacrosse.org, is the single most important series of drills for 8 and 9 year olds ever devised.
