Ok so my team is definately one of the less talented teams around and we don't take are season very serious. It seems like everyone talks like they want to win but doesn't practice or play like it. Everyone seems to be pretty lazy and screws around at practices and no one gets fired up for games. What is your advice on getting my team to get serious and start playing like a good team because even though we may not be so talented I think that if we work hard and play hard we could probably scrap out a few extra wins than we should.

for starters, you take the lead
show them that your willing to give it your all
some might see, hey, that kid is really putting his energy into it, and start also
then it might just spread
and, try encouragement, and keep everyone in check
also try to put a frm footdown during practice to get some things done
and make them fall in love with the sport
if they are passionate about it, they will try hard

if they had something to play for it might help. i used to play for northport and that was where the tagic accident happend with louis the goalie and him getting hit in the chest and dieing while playing so when we played our team caption would read his prayer card to us before the game and it would get us fired up. of course i hope no one ever goes through what our town went through in losing such a great young man but maybe you can find something like that. something to get them fired up. and like sammy said take the lead be a leader maybe thats what your team needs is a leader.

lead by example. recruit teammates who are as seriuos as you. get together to toss the rock around on weekends. get a common thread going, something to be proud of.
