I was practicin out back today and i looked at my head, and i noticed the sidewall broke. I am really [NO CURSING] pissed right now. This head was strung by my dad's friend who has been stringing heads for years. It is really nice, and its my game stick. Is there anyway to fix a broken sidewall without unstringing the shooters? because my shooters are done old school style. Ive strung 2 other sticks, and im not particularly happy with them. it is ripped and frayed, like this: the minus signs are were it frayed, and the gap is where it broke
====-----====== ==========
so here is what i want to know
- is there anyway to fix a sidewall without unstringing the shooters?
- could i really screw up my pocket if i dont restring my stick exactly the way it was before? (like tightness)
- Is there any trick to stringing oldschool shooters, as opposed to the other kind?
You can just replace the old sidewall with a new one, Thats really easy and shouldnt be that much of a problem.

Old school shooters = rolled shooters.
To fix your sidewall, just take out the old string and put it back through, be sure to go through the end of the shooters and you are fine. It won't mess anything up if the new sidewall isn't exactly as tight as the other, just try to get it as tight as you can.
And for the rolled shooters, you just lay half of the string across the back of the mesh, and then come through and basically weave with the other half. AM17 did a tutorial on them, search for it, and follow it exactly, except put the first part of the lace on the back opposed to him doing it on the front of the mesh.

There was an article in the inside lacrosse a few issues ago, If you could get hold of that it would help a LOT.

or you could use zap straps , doesnt mess your pocket up ..no need to restring ne thing ..and they last for a,long time ! and there cheap , just put them overtop where your sidewall is freying (sp)

There was that one "Stick Doctor" column where he talked about how to replace blown out sidewalls without restringing the stick, there was some knot you did and it required a new piece of string...
