ive got my mesh exactly the way i want it, with the sidewall strings just a little loose and the shooters in the perfect place. i have an av8 and ive pinched it before by tying it up for like 8-12 hours, and that pinched it some, but now i want it more pinched. i mentioned all that stuff about the mesh because i dont want to unstring it, but tying it up for a few hours doesnt seem to work anymore. i dont have the time to tie it up for a long period of time either because its my only head and i need to go to practice/hit the wall often. any other pinching method, or am i just gonna have to unstring it and boil it?

sorry to tell you this but either unstring and boil or sacrifice the practice time

you can tie it up and put it in the dashboard of your car so it has some heat. what i mean is tie it up and expose it to a little heat over a long period of time (like a day)

try putting in the microwave for about 3 minutes. tie it the way u want and check it to see if there is anything funky going on inside the microwave

or tie it up and use a hairdryer.. it takes a while, but not as long as leaving it on your dashboard. but is effective if you do it right.. and somewhere james has a good tutorial for pinching

Any longer than 10 seconds in there equals a bubbling melted head.

hairdryer and dashboard seem pretty good, but will microwave melt the stringing? cuz i know a lighter does...

I pinched my X2. And at some point it looked like this......

What I did was fill my sink with the hottest water that would come out of the sink and then stuck the head in face down to prevent the mesh from touching the water. The mesh does get deformed if you do a pinch as radical as mine.

Zipties/Cable ties are the little clear things. Pencil is wedged in at the top to prevent the head from getting illegal. To get the cable ties really tight, you need plyers.

wait so for microwaving i dont need to take anything off of the head? ballstop/stringing can stay on?

i dont know my microwave is old and kinda broken and doesnt really give off a lot of heat so i wouldnt attempt it, it is not worth ruining the head. i have another idea that might work, try using a space heater that might work.

if i were you i would just unstring it and boil it, it shouldnt take that long

oh and that x2 isnt illegal or anything

I knew the X2 was a stiff head so I over pinched it. It widened up about 2 inches so its just about perfect now.

wow worst idea ever, just totally ruined my mesh, it hardened up, so i pounded it and it broke, good thing i have a broken-in piece lying around here, so i can string this in it, but now i feel like a total and utter moron and im just gonna pinch it the right way. thanks for you help. i am such an idiot.

if you live in an area with hot weather right now.. tie it up much tighter than you actually want it pinched and then stick it in the trunk of a car for two days or so... take it out and then leave it in a closet or cool place for a day
