I was considering starting my own stringging company over the summer and was just wondering what it takes. like do i need to hire other people, how much supplies will i have to order, how to determine prices. Just looking to get advice from all the experienced entrepreneurs here.

You can look at some of the current stringing companies, i.e. Quik Stick Lax or Jimalax. If you wanted, you could e-mail them and ask how they got started.

Here's a small section of the Quik Stik Method to Stringing Business Building. (coming to a bookstore near you)

Employees
I doubt you'll need employees, the work load shouldn't be that overwhelming. Maybe you know someone who is better than you at a certain pocket and want them to "work" for you, thats the only scenario in which I would consider an "employee".

Supplies
Start out slow, don't buy it all at once. Everytime you need to string a new color, buy the whole spool of it so you won't have to again. For example: say you get an order for a blue pita pocket. Order a spool of blue crosslace, so the next time you get an order for blue, you have plenty. Through doing this repeatedly, you'll slowly build up you supplies to the point where you don't have to make an order for a new color everytime something different comes it.

you should make a website so people know about your company.

yea and make sure on the website that you have a lot of GREAT looking pockets. thats what will get costumers if your quiality is good, and have like pics of u with stick so they know its you. use good color schemes for the pictures and mayb kool dye jobs those help. u will be small at first but word will spread via costumers. if one peron tells 2 those 2 tell 2 each it will start adding up and word will get out.

yea, do what those guys said. consider setting up a tent or something at games with a table then people can take you their sticks and have you string it or repair it. also consider getting a cool name like fixes stickes lol
