hey guys,

ok some of you might know what emulators/roms are, and some of you may not. for those of you who do not...an emulator is a program on your computer that simulates a console gaming system and lets you play console games via your computer. they are free and you should just search google for them and its easy to get. roms are the games you download to play through the emulators. its a lot of fun. i thought i would make a thread about it since ive really been into them lately. i have a snes (super nintendo) emulator and a bunch of roms, but lately ive been trying to beat the original donkey kong country game haha. what about you guys?

Where do you get your emulator and roms?
I'm interested in running a sega genesis emulator on my new comp.

I had Snes9x and Super Mario All-Stars (it included all the NES and SNES american and japanese mario games) for a while. Got bored after a while and deleted it.

you dont need to know a good site, just google it seriously. example... you want donkey kong for snes... just google "snes roms"

find donkey kong and get it, they pretty much always come in .zip or .rar files... zip usually.

if you have any questions about it, just pm me ill help you out.

Dang, I have been trying to find something like this for months. Once I get my good computer up and running, I'll definately download one of these.

pshh legal issues shmeegal issues, as with music, millions of people download these every day. the music or rom police arent going to break down your door and seize your computer. :chuckle:

Anyone have a good controller to play these games with? I just downloaded an N64 emulator, and playing Zelda with a keyboard is hard as hell.

I don't think this is a legit topic to be discussing, seeing as how it's illegal. While highly unlikely, the site and you could get in trouble for these types of things.

It is not illegal..It is completely legal to possess any Emulator. For the roms, as long as you own the game itself then you can legally posess the rom. It is like making a back-up of your cd's. If you do not own the rom then you have to delete it after 24 hours time.

I used to have tons of roms on my laptop. I downloaded the Zsnes emulator then the SNES9x emulator and got about 100 super nintendo games. Then i moved on to gameboy and eventually configured my laptop to read PS2 games in my DVD drive.

I used to have a ton of snes games on my old pc. When I first got my powerbook I went searching for a mac compatable snes emulator and came up with bupkis. Currently, I have an extreme yen to play Chrono Trigger again, so the search will begin anew...
