Here is the situation: this past weekend, my friends and I engaged in a discussion has to whether you can eat breakfast twice, or all you do i eat more.
Person1 claims that if you wake up at 7 AM and eat breakfast, and then eat again at 9 AM, you have eaten breakfast twice, but this breaks all the logic of 3 square meals a day, and creates 2 meals that are the same, and 2 more different ones. The counterpoint is that all you do is eat more food, and it is included in the same meal.
So what do you guys think about this argument? Who is right? Can you really eat 2 breakfasts in one day? or is it just one big meal spread over an allotted time slot? please, support your arugments with details and not just who is right. gracious!

I go with 2 different meals. You have 2 hours to digest all that food. The 3 meals a day ideal isn't set in stone.

The "3-square-meals" ideal is moot. It's 2 breakfasts. You can eat as much and as many times during the day as you want. Depending on the time you ate, that's what constitutes it as what.

Breakfast only exists until McDonalds stops selling McGriddles.

I usually eat when I am hungry or whenever someone else makes me a meal. I could care less about when it happens. As for the breakfast, the second one is known as brunch.

brunch only happens if the food consumed happens to be breakfast food and lunch food, so if its both pancakes or waffles, thats 2 breakfasts.

I eat between 6-9 small meals a day. But they all include some wheat/grain. And a fruit or vegetable. Minimum that it. But i also get all my dairy, nuts, and fruits in every day...

Also its alot easier to make small snacks then it is to make large meals, espeicaly with vegetarian meals. Because with wood, you have to cook it all, while when you dont have a meat to go with a meal, you can cook very small portions, which is awesome.

Oh, but breakfast food is the best... ever... pancakes are AWESOME!!!!

I think to get to the answer of the question you have to look at the word your using. Breakfast is literally to break the fast (which you encountered over your sleeping) - fast being the lack of food, like in the sense of one fasting. So techinically your first meal of the day when ever it is - even if McDonalds is done serving McGriddles which they never should, is breaking the fast. Sooo that being the case you can only break the fast once a day no matter the time - overly technical but whatever.

I eat Bfast at 7:00 a.m. in the morning. Then at school I eat the alledged "lunch" at 10:30 a.m. On most days that i don't have school, I don't wake up untill 10:30. In conclusion, 2 meals a day.

Hmm, you can;t eat breakfast twice. Take alooksie at the word here: break-fast. As in breaking your fast, as in breakin the whole not-eating-while-you-sleep thing. If you eat at 7, then sleep and and eat again at 9, yur body should still be digesting the food from the previous meal/processing it.

that is the exact same argument i made, but it was thrown out the window because it was ''too technical''

i am always eating throughout the day, which is all little meals, which is good for u, than 3 meals, cause u r burning the calories during the day rather that 3 monster calorie meals

One can be a breakfast and the second could be a snack. Between breakfast and lunch.

I say we call this "second Breakfast" which would fall between breakfast and lunch - BR..UNCH

according to dictionary.com the term for brunch is "A meal typically eaten late in the morning as a combination of a late breakfast and an early lunch." which means you cannot eat two breakfasts but you can eat one breakfast and one brunch. CASE SOLVED! thx K-BAZ
