Hey guys, I was at the Pens game last night where Sidney Crosby became the youngest player in NHL history to score 100 points in one season  in a Penguins' 6-1 (rare) victory over the Islanders. I was just wondering what you guys thought of Sidney and his feat as well as Ovechkin and the other amazing rookies in the NHL.

If this is been discussed, I apologize, but last night was pretty awesome...

I don't really like Crosby. I think he is completely stuck up, and he kind of is a smart when he gets interviewed. He also refuses to sign autographs when asked on most occasions.I would be more appreciative of my fan base if I was a player like him.
Ovechkin on the other hand I feel is a much better overall player. I don't think I've seen Crosby lay someone out all year, and Ovechkin does it pretty much every game, while scoring more points than Crosby as well. BTW what about TLF fantasy hockey. I'll have to make a thread on it when it ends tomorrow.

Crosby is not a hitting player, you wouldnt see mark millon drop a guy in a game would you? Also Crosby is 16, and has had hype for years now. Ovechkin is 20, older, stronger, faster, so obviously right now he is going to be a better player. When Crosby is 20, he will be better then ovechkin was at that age.

Crosby is 18 bud. I know exactly what eclipse is saying, and hes right 100%. Ovechkin is 2 years older than sid the kid. Now they are pretty damn close as far as talent, but when Crosby is 20 he will a hell of a lot better than Alexander the great was this year. Notice the nicknames. Crosby is stuck up yes, but he's also been hyped and talked about since junior, when he was 16. He hasn't matured enough to learn how to handle those interveiws, especially at 16. You wait he won't be such a wiener in a few years.

I hope you guys are right, but I don't feel that 2 years makes a huge difference between players, especially in the pros. I do think that Crosby will get better, but you have to think, so will Ovechkin. Since the lockout held Ovechkin back, you can't really compare the two's stats as to their age either. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

I disagree with xEclipse19...Fleury is definatly amazing in net. Hes pretty much one of the sole reasons im a Penguins fan. Im not too fond of Crosby, while he is a great player, he is very stuck up.

All the hype about him being the next Gretzky is unfounded. While he is a very good player, I agree with EndlesFimbulvet that he is very stuck up and eventually something will happen and Crosby will get too full of himself. Though he may break Gretzky's records, he will not achieve the fame b/c of his attitude.

i like ovechkin better. But arent the Pens supposed to get evgeni malkin next year? He's only a year older than crosby i believe, and he's extremely hyped up too.

What a bunch of great posts...

"hockey sucks!"

"I hate Crosby"

Crosby is stuck up but so was Wayne back in the day... Crosby will indeed break the assist record.. and he'll do it soon too.

As much as I like Crosby I thought he would have done a lot better this year he is having a great year, but I thought he would be where Ovechkin is right now.

lol Wayne is still cocky today! Sid the kid is good, and i agree, the assist record will belong to him.

I believe Gretzky did, but could be wrong.

Ye Xeclipse. He is the youngest by 3 months.

Oh, then yes your right. And I think he shouldn't get the record. If the other guy was born three months later he would have done the same.

Yes, I know that but a lot of the claims I've been reading are saying that he's the first 18 year old to ever score 100 points in a season and he isn't. He's the second 18 year old to do it but he's the youngest by 3 months.

He's still the youngest player to score 100 points.

Crosby is sweet with good hands and knowledge of were to be to score, same with Ovechkin but Ovechkin is two years older and a little bit bigger which gives him a slit advantage but give Crosby two years and he will be just as sweet as Jagr and everybody else
