Hi, we are playing the DLC in Europe and this year we play 7 on 7 (+ goalkeeper). We only play this because there are not enough players per team but in the next years we hope to be able to play full strength.
So my question is - whatīs the best taktik on Offense and Defense. We play with offside : only halfcourt - 2 men have to stay in Offense and 3 in Defense.
So if anyone can help me please write back. If anyone knows some playcalls or strategy please tell me.
Thx...

Not too much different than 10 on 10, except you can get some really easy fast breaks. I played about 40 games that way as attack (mostly, even though I usually play d), defense, and some middie. The fastbreaks are very hard to stop, especially if you can dominate the faceoff. Also, if you play on a full field, you have lots of room to work the ball. We usually played a 2-1-2 and did the same things we normally did and it worked. If you like picks and cuts, you can do that easily from a 2-1-2. You can also do iso's, modified motion plays, whatever fits your style.
What's the DLC, by the way?

DLC is the Danube Lacrosse Conference. The Teams are : Vienna Monarchs, Vienna Cherokees, Ljubljana Dragons, Passau(Germany), Bratislava(Cech) and our team the Graz Gladiators (Austria). I am player, coach and captain but I play for exactly 1 year now but I was the 2nd best player last year with 12 goals. My advantage is that I also play Basketball for about 17 years and so I know a lot of taktiks in Offense and especially in Defense but itīs still hard for me because Iīd like to have someone explain some good plays to me that work but are not too hard to explain to my team.
But thanx for your quick reply but I hope you can explain more to me so I have a bigger choice to pick things out...

Hi viper-26, OK, I was guessing that's what it would be. I've played against Passau many times. One of the captains from my old team in Frankfurt played there when he studied in Passau.
If you like to pick off the ball, try a 2-1-2 and have the creaseman pick opposite the ball. Once the defense figures it out (Passau will figure it out quickly if Flo Klaus still plays there), sue repicks and fake picks. You can also do this from a 1-3-1 and 3-1-1 (with one guy at X, although your middies will probably come lower than usual, so it will be almost like a 1-3-1). If you have a good feeder, you can also use a 2-2-1 and use the two creasemen to pick for each other like you would in a 2-2-2.
If you like motion offenses, which are nice because everyone has something to do and everyone theoretically has an equal chance to get the ball, read Kevin Sheehan's articles "Finding Space." He talks about drills for a motion offense using 4 on 4 and 6 on 6. You can modify these for 5 on 5.
The 1-3-1 is good for iso's. Adjacent slides are pretty hard if you're on a full sized field, so your creaseman should have a lot of chance, because the crease defenseman will have to slide a lot.
