i'm not sure this is just happening in my league or others for highschool, but our refs tend to call slashing and cross-checking with a lot less leaneancy(SP?), if you watch college they get away with a lot more slashing and cross-checking and I can barely slap check a guy with out getting yelled at by the ref to just get stick. So my question is are college refs more leaniant (SP? again) as compared to highschool refs?

Yes, probably.

thanks, that helps, it kinda annoys me because even if im just poking the guys bottom hand the ref starts yelling at me to get stick so I guess they are cracking down on it more

Never use what you see allowed in D1 college ball (especially if you're only watching the playoffs on ESPN) as a guide to what is allowed in HS or even other levels of college ball. I wathc those games and I cringe sometimes at something that doesn't draw a flag. Many times at the rules clinic the next year the head of officials shows those tapes and says "that should've been called".
Listen to what the officials on YOUR game are saying or calling and let that be your guide. When you graduate and play for Syracuse they may lighten up a little.
