I voted for DQ because it is the best of the three IMO, but pretty much any local ice cream store beats them because of the cheap prices, and homely feeling.

True. Right down the street from me is Graeter's Ice Cream. I'm pretty sure any kid within the 614 limit has eaten it or seen it at like, Kroger's.

Im guessing they are in Cincinatti because he stated it in his post, not trying to be a smart alick(sp?).

If you are ever in Newtown, CT. . . go to the Ice Cream Shoppe on Chuch Hill Rd.
It's amazing, all they're ice cream is hand made on sight.
Their floats are amazing, their avalanches (equivalent of a DQ blizzard) are to die for as well.
DQ is great as an ice cream chain. But Ben & Jerry's always gets my vote for delicious ice cream.

Maggie Moo's is my favorite ice cream place but it's basically like coldstone so I voted for coldstone.

I enjoy both DQ & Coldstone, though I rarely go (in order to watch my girlish figure :chuckle: ) however my personal favorite is going to the boardwalk in Ocean City for some Kohr Bros frozen custard, of which I am convinced the salty ocean air makes it taste better.

Is that NJ, or MD?
I know here in NJ Kohr brothers is pretty much the best ice cream place on the island. They ware a little pricey though, its like 3.50 for a medium cone.

The MD one, my folks have a place there. I guess it's pricey, but it's worth it. I tend to get the Chocolate/Peanut Butter tiwst and settle down for some people watching.

Half-Baked is awesome too.
i voted DQ only because I like them the most out of the three, but there's a local place around here that is much better than all of them.

coldstone creamery completely blew me away the first time i went in there.
I asked for butterfingers and the kady pulled out a whole bar and beat it to pieces in front of me and then mixed it in. that was one of the best moments of my life.

THIS THREAD MAKES ME SOOO HUNGRY FOR ICE CREAM!!
coldstone is amazing, although they cannot sing if their life depended on it. but if u go in with ear plugs, then it is by far the best ice cream. the only one that comes close is kohr bros in ocean city, nj

For those of us fortunate enough to live in upstate NY (Rochester area), Abbot's Frozen Custard is top-notch. Hands-down, best ice-cream I have ever tasted. if you ever pass through here, make a note to try it.

I spent a summer in Irondequiot and loved getting a garbage plate at Irondequiot Hots and then sometimes if we were in the city we would sometimes go to Abbot's. Asked some locals around and they all said for my brother and I to go there. Good times!
I prefer Ben & Jerry's nationally and their factory in Vermont is a blast to visit. Try and get Sara as a tour guide if she is working. She is one spacy chica.
For the poll, I voted Baskin Robbins.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that I like Marble Slab better than Cold Stone simply because it's been around longer in my area.

Been to Wisconsin and spent some time in Minnesota as well. I worship Michaels, but I think it would end up giving me a massive coronary if I ate there too much.

The Dairy Bar. You won't know what I'm talking about unless you live anywhere near the Durham, NH area. Their medium ice creams are the size of an XL anywhere else. But not the price of an XL.

Baskin Robins 31 flavors are hands down the sweetest, most plentiful tasting scoops of heaven around. A double scoop of CCCD [ Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ] usually does the job. Allthough I have a wine drinkers taste with a beer drinkers wallet so when I get them, its like my first time all over again....
**Allthough I must say, if your into soft-serve, Dairy Queen has the best. Their CCCD blizzards......ummmMmmm.....yet another ice-cream shop from heaven. I personally like my scoop-able ice-cream but for all you softies, DQ is the way to go!

This one place right near me, Red Rooster Creamery, is soooooooo good. Really good sherbert/sorbet/sherbet/whatever-you-wanna-call-it too. And also, this little tiny place in Georgetown (for those of you that live in the Denver area, the one you pass on the way to Keystone and the other mountains) that makes all of its own candy and ice cream, including their own waffle cones, is to die for.
