So, im playing goalie. I have the ball in my posession, my entire body in the crease. I've had it for about 1-2 seconds. I go to clear the ball. (both feet still clearly inside crease, (i also still had 2 seconds left)) And i get decked by this hulk of an attackman, who takes the ball, after i am decked. He scores. The ref says this is a goal. I think that that is totally stupid, and it should not have been a goal, because i was in the crease and got hit.
The correct ruling would be no goal correct?
Also, in IL, i noticed a picture and a caption that said goalies cant wear baggy sweatpants? (appaerntly they can block shots)...Whats up with this?
Sorry if this has been covered. Im new to the rules forum.

Errr... the refs in Georgia suck?
Yes, that is completely illegal.

EGAD! Such horrible reffing makes Longpole cringe. No goal, without a question.

I see...it actually seemed real. Just like the seriousness of the caption.

What was it? I remember laughing when seeing it, but I don't remember the exact wording...

I'll go look and post it...
The GK may wear sweatpants, so long as they aren't so baggy that they form a webbing between the legs capable o fstopping a pioint blank shot.
^when they said it if u read it carefully than what they really are saying is their joking about it by saying that in the new rules for 07 that will be the new rule, they said it seriously to simulate the possible future rule

Well, let's sort this out.
(A) Assuming you were in the crease, never left it, and were hit inside it, this would be at least GK interference, at most IBC/UR. Penalty, attackman sent off. Free clear as you had possession at the time of the infraction.
(B) If you stepped entirely (even briefly) OUT of the crease (and did not notice it, which can happen), then reentered and went back inside it (which you said you were at the time of the hit), then the ref should have blown his whistle for illegal reentry and awarded the ball to the attack 20 yards lateral to the goal.
I can see no situation where, if any part of your body was in the crease at the time of the hit, that this should count as a goal. In (A) you never left and (B) you left and reentered, and neither allows for a goal by the attack.
Of course, there is:
(C) You were mistaken and you had stepped out of the crease. In that case, assuming the body check were legal, this is a goal. Perhaps your bearings were off and you had actually left the crease???
Since we were not there, nobody can say except to take you at your word of what you thought happened, and if what you say is factual, then this should not have been a goal. Your coach could have called for an official's challenge, stating the official misinterpreted the rules regarding body checking of a goalkeeper who is in the crease area.
