ok. i was playing baseball at lunch today, and i was playing first base. i was just filling in for some players, and wasnt going to play again. i was playing first base, and a guy hit the ball to the pitcher. he was fast so the pitcher tried to throw it to me, and i stuck out my hand to catch it and he ran into me hand at full speed. i didnt fall over, but knew instantly something was wrong. i went to the hospital, and now i have a cracked hand and wrist bone. im not sure if im getting a cast, but im out for at least half of my box and most of my field season. i am super pissed right now, and have to do everything one handed, including typing. i am really frustrared, and dont know what to do to keep up my skills, and i cant work out either.
just thought id share this ****ty experience with you guys

When I broke my arm, I just threw one handed and now my left hand is so much stronger then it was before. If it was your good hand you broke, you would see the difference as soon as your broken hand felt better. Just throw and catch one handed, cradle one handed, or pick up a squeezy ball or one of those hand exercisers and squeeze the crap out of it all day.

That sounds like what Derek Lee (CHIcago Cubs) did yesterday.

Nothing till youre out of your cast.
I broke my wrist in football. snapped it clean in half, played two weeks later but had a cast on for 7 weeks. how long you stuck with the cast and is it a half cast or does it lock your elbow too?

*Cracks off random "I hate baseball" joke*
Hah, I joke... sorry to hear about that... good luck with getting it healed. If I can say anything, it would be don't be stupid and try to push things. I fractured my elbow playing football and there I was a week later trying to play football. Not only did it hurt like a mother when something or someone hit my elbow, but it took a little longer for it to heal and might have kept it from healing to 100%... so, just rest for however long they tell you to and don't do anything stupid.

Okay im not sure whats wrong with you, but someone last year at my school broke a bone in their hand somewhat like you. They were able to make a special cast for him tho that fit into his glove so he could keep playing, maybe there is something they can do for you too?

dude i feel really bad for you i broke my wrist after the first week of high school spring season. i have 2 weeks left in the cast. the reason i was gone so long was it healed incorrectly and they had to rebreak it and put pins in but i got the pins out yesterday. i have a new cast for the post pin removal healing period which means i cant play the season. i was kinda hoping to make the last game but oh well...yeah i feel really bad for you i dont reccomend breaking bones to anyone.
