Fix me

Hi...I just got my computer back from the company that was fixing it and i logged onto Aim and it worked fine. But when i tried to IM someone it wouldnt let me. I couldnt type in the text box. But i can type anywhere else i need to. I can type in the sn box but just not in the text box...? How can i fix this?

I tried that but its the same...i just got a new firewall program but i have it permiting everything from aim and its still messed up

Try shutting off all firewall programs, anti-virus, anti-spyware, etc. I know it sounds crazy to leave your computer vulnerable like that, but it's better that way. Make sure there is nothing running that could possibly hinder internet usage. Then try AIM. If it still doesn't work, i really don't know what to tell you. Possibly need to reformat at that point.

I really see this as a software problem.. you wouldn't necessarily be able to bring up AIM if the firewall was hindering its usage.. let me think on it a bit..

how do you connect to the internet? if there is a router between your computer and the internet there might be a closed port in it?!?

i hate aim, always gave me problems so i use Gaim.
