GK A1 has one foot clearly on the ground inside the crease, and is going for a loose ball scoop just outside the crease. A1's stick is hit by B1's stick, also going for the loose ball. The official blows the whistle and awards the ball to team B (NOT team A) 20 yards lateral to the goal. Nobody else is involved in the play, nor has anybody else commited a rule infraction. So, we're left with A1 and B1 as the key players in this fiasco. Waaassssuuupppp???

Ding Ding, we have a winner. Good job CTLaxer. And I thought i was the only one having trouble sleeping this morning. Good to know others come here for the comfort only the rules of lacrosse have to offer the mind, spirit, and soul.

Actually, I'm in AZ and it was only 12:30am. Was just getting home from a night out with the ex. Good thing it wasn't because I couldn't sleep though, I had to wake up early today to help out with the national tournament team tryouts out here!

Goalkeeper B1, who does not have possession and is out of the crease, runs toward the crease to chase down a pass from defenseman B2. B1 gets one foot in the crease and then catches the pass. Instead of starting a 4-second count, the official blows the whistle immediately and awards the ball to the defense, 20 yards laterally from the goal. Why?
(It was not an inadvertant whistle.)

Hey, it's getting kind of boring around this place. Plus, recycling is good for the environment, no?? I remember you did something similar to this, but not exactly the same. Of course, you are the originator and grandmaster of the reverse quiz, and all credit goes to you.
Did you see my other one? I'm just trying my best to get the minds in gear now that the season is officially in session.
If you recall any good old quizzes, please repeat them as we have new members in our community, and for them, they're ALL new and educational.
But yes, I think this one is a take off of an old one of yours that had me stumped IIRC.
