Can high school football players be drafted into the NFL like in the NBA?

No, under current rules, you have to be in your third year out of high school to be drafted. So true college freshmen and sophomores aren't even eligible for NFL.

Plus..unlike basketball where it's a bunch of babies you would get killed in the NFL.

Yeah. It would probably be stupid too. In the NBA your size doesn't really matter besides height which you can be in high school. In football your not developed enough and you would be eaten alive by much older and bigger guys.

I would love to see a Kid strait out of highschool play in one NFL game... Especially a lineman... unless they've been juicin from birth, they are pretty much a beanie baby on the field.

actually when mike williams (receiver USC/Detroit Lions) appealed i think they overturned it for a very short while, but the decision was then rescinded. in the gap between, ESPN magazine had an article about a HS jr that was declaring for the draft...i wonder wat happened to him

yep 3 year rule... (remember Maurie Clarrett)
and yeah no high school player is phyiscally mature enough to compete with grown men..
