A1 slashes B1 as the quarter is nearing its end. B1 is then slashed by A2. Quarter ends with the flag down still in effect. A3 has his stck determined illegal, it is too short. 3 Minute NR. How do you settle the penalty situation. In our game today it was done by having a 10-7 situation (no middies). I though it should have been the 2 slashes then the illegal stick kicks in. Thoughts?

There is no stacking rule under NFHS rules. If you have 8 guys get penalties, you could play down 10-2.

Even under NCAA rules, you can be down up to--but not more than--3 men. So, under no standard lacrosse rules would there be any provision for anything other that team A being down 3 men. Maybe you're thinking of hockey?

its only 3 in teh box, so its fine to stack them.

Huh? Stacking only applies when there are 4 or more players from one team serving penalties at the same time, and only under NCAA rules.

Interesting, live and learn I guess. Never knew that was possible.

Not that complicated here. A1 and A2 are going to serve 1 min releasable slash penalties. A3 gets a 3 min NR stick penalty. B starts the next quarter with the ball.

The situation that was originally stated was only 2 slashes and an illegal crosse. Thats what I was trying to point out. Only 3 penalties (unless I'm missing one) therefore the stack doesnt apply.
