just a quick question about mesh. i have 7D, 8D hard, soft, american, and semi hard, but i dont know which one has the best release for a shot.
can anyone tell me which one is the fastest?? or all of them in order from fastest to slowest??
thanks a lot

Idk which has the "best" realease for a shot but i think that 7d has the "quickest" realease, idk any1 back me up?

it depends on how its strung, but generally yeah 7d has the "quickest" realease.
i dont think it really matters

I dont know what you guys are talking about with the 7d larger diamond mesh is bumpier making for a bumpy slower release. I think the fastest releasing mesh is any type of 10 diamond. Cata, normal hard those are my choices. Minimesh doest count because IMO its impractical.
Just so you know any pocket can have a quick release you just have to string it low and I know a thing or too about low pockets :nahya:
Proton power low pocket= quick release-http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/8163/dscn09230ru.th.jpg (http://img221.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dscn09230ru.jpg)
Torque with low 7d= slightly slower release still pretty fast-http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/7685/dscn08940eh.th.jpg (http://img212.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dscn08940eh.jpg)

eh, i dont know
if the 10d isnt hard enough it can be slower

I feel that 10 Hard mesh is probably the fastest ( cata is up there). Just from throwing with the two and they have the same pocket placement the 10D throws faster. If I am wrong I am wrong but I am pretty sure 10d hard mesh is faster. But as always I could be wrong so I need somebody to back me up

it depends on how soft the 10d is.

You are right in my first post I didnt specifiy then after reading it I went back and said harmesh and posted the pictures. But I am speaking of cata and hard mesh= quickest realease. Like I said before I could easily be wrong but I am still sticking to my answer

If it's all the same consistancy(as in hard to soft ratio)... Then the smaller the diamonds, the quicker release...
Period.
EDIT: and they all need to be strung the same exact way for that to come out with an exact result.

that means MINI mesh would be pretty fast!

^^^ yea but the difference between 10D and 7D is greater then that of 10D to minimesh I believe so it wouldnt be as big of a difference

Smoke more. A low pocket gives you a SLOWER release. Not a quicker one. The mesh thing you said was correct though

Are you being sarcastic? because every high pocket I have ever strung had had a much slower relase. Maybe I am stupid and cant string a high pocket like box playing slinky. oh well I am wrong once again

Quit bickering both of you. You're both right.
A low pocket generally gives no whip, so therefore the ball won't be impeded as much by whip when you release the ball, making a low pocket somewhat faster. HOWEVER, a low, whipless pocket requires more of a follow through to throw a decent pass, so under those circumstances, your release is slower since you have a full follow through.
However, to combat that reasoning, a high pocket is physically closer to the top of the stick and takes less effort to release, making that faster. Since it has more whip, however, the release may be impeded by that whip, making it slower. To counter that, a whippy pocket won't require as much of a follow through, making the release faster.
This is a pointless conversation. This depends completely on the mechanics of your throwing and what you consider a "release". This is just like the "what shoots faster-whip or no whip".

than why does it say on jimalax that 7D has a quicker release than 10D??

BECAUSE THEY ARE SLOWLY TRYING TO DESTROY THE LACROSSE STRINGING COMMUNITY. THEY HATE US ALL AND ARE CONSPIRING AGAINST US.
maybe they said that because it is true, but makes such a miniscule difference and depends much more on shooting/passing mechanics and how it is strung with how much whip from shooters.

Buddy, can you read?
7 Diamond mesh begins to bridge the gap between the lower numbered Diamond mesh and Traditional mesh. Its diamond size is moderate to small, so 7 Diamond mesh offers excellent shot speed at a slight loss of hold. It is not as easy to break in as most of the other style attack/defense mesh, but once broken in it is extremely durable and will hold its pocket through cold and wet weather. 7 Diamond is a good choice for scorers looking to maximize shot speed.
Where does it say that? Shot speed does NOT mean a quick release.
