I want to get more in shape before lax season because my stamina sucks but I really don't like going out for a run. Are there other things such as swimming or biking that would improve my stamina but still help my game as well?

jump rope, swimming is probably the best, biking, and just eating healthy

Use the elliptical (sp?) trainers at the Y. I used those when my knees were bad, and they don't seem to give as much of a strenuous workout as running. However, if you do them long enough you can definitely feel the burn in your quads and calfs.

By the way, your season starts dang late.

once a pool opens near you, swim like crazy. plus its more fun than just flat out running. especially with friends. particularly lady friends wearing revealing bathing suits :naughty:

Ya swimming is awesome. A lot of people don't feel like they're working out as much but it's because you're in the water (you also can't tell but you sweat like a beast). I absoloutely love to go swimming & it's really good for your body. Biking is really good also but not quite as enjoyable. My suggestion would be to get some friends together & go bike a trail or something with plans to possibly go swimming at the end?haha

We don't have a real lacrosse here its just 1 indoor soccer arena with 2 lacrosse nets and the teams are only like 8 people on the field at a time or something. It sucks. Lacrosse isn't big in my city and its a ***** if you want to actually get good at lacrosse and hope to go somewhere with it.

Those tips all sound great, thanks alot. Swimming I am going to start doing because its really good for the upper body too and I'm going to be getting my Red Cross too soon. Biking may not be fun for some people but personally I love it so I'm glad that will work too. Ill start throwing in 20 minutes of cardio at the gym 3 days a week at the gym on the elyptical too.

Thanks for your help
