I have a really bad habit i'm having trouble getting rid of, every time i come out of a dodge, and even sometimes just when im running i will put my head down. This of course makes it much harder to see the field and where people are, im trying to break the habit, because i feel it would make me a lot better, any one got any ideas??

The most obvious answer woudl be throw your pads on, and practice running around in your backyard doing dodges and stuff, and keep your head up the whole time. Pick a window on your house, or a tree or something, and just run around your yard cradling, dodging, switching hands, etc, but keep your eyes on that object the whole time.

This should help.

I just got over the same problem and i must say, its incredible how much better you are once you break the habit. What i did was every time before practice like during passing drills i would catch the ball do a dodge and try to keep my head up. Then during practice i would make sure i never put my head down and when i got home from practice, i would practice one on ones with my bro and keep my head up, its all a lot of practice and it didnt take me that long to get over it either, good luck!

Ya man that is just something you have to consistently work on. When I first started playing lacrosse "back in the day" (giggle giggle) I would always get tunnel vision & not pay attention to my surroundings. I'd just tuck the stick & try to charge through the crowd & the first time you remember to keep your head up & you like hit a cutting middie or attackmen w/ the ball it should click & shouldn't be too much of a problem anymore. Just constantly remind yourself

One thing you could do is have your coach or someone stand in the middle. Then whenever you make a catch or a dodge or are running he should hold up a number on his hand. Then you have to call the number out. This will force you to look up. Just position the guy holding the numbers up so that he won't be in the way, but still in a good place for you to look at.
