So this is the first year of lax in my county as a hs sport. Our coach is really cool and I like her a lot. I am thankful that she took the challenge to coach us this year. BUT she really doesn't know anything about lax. At our practices we really don't do much. Lately we have been running a lot...and that's about all we do. I had no idea there were so many different types of dodges until I came onto this site. We haven't even practiced one. I feel like we have a good team, but the fact that our practices arn't intense enough. She always has our goalie suit up, but then she never has an drills ran on her.We don't really practice on skill much, and do the same things all the time. I know the season is pretty much over now, but I'm worried about next year. I really want us to have a better season next year, but I dont think that's going to happen if we have the same coaches. I don't want to hurt her feelings, but I wish she could just be an assistent coach next year.
I know other teamates feel the same way too. I'm not sure if I should talk to the athletic director? or what? I really don't know what to do about the situation and I wasn't sure if maybe any of you guys have been in this situation or just have any advice??
Thanks:)

Just talk to her and the captians about having practices with more skills involved. Let her know some sites to use and where she can get ideas.

Any coach wants to improve and have their team win. Maybe get her some resources on coaching. I know USL has a tutorial on their website on coaching women's lacrosse as well as a traveling hands-on clinic. Maybe the team could get a collection together and give it to her as an end of the year gift....

sure. Just go to uslacrosse.org and it's under the coach's tab. The coach has to be a member of USL in order for her to take the online portion I believe, and I know she has to be a member to do the in person clinic. There should be a clinic schedule around there to see if it's coming to your area. The online session alone is definitely worth it. Also there are quite a few books out there that you guys could give her that would help her out a lot...
