Alright y'all... we need a bit of a favor from everyone here. We wanted a little feedback on a new site called Inter-Lax. I've personally checked it out and think it's a great resource for any lacrosse player, new or experienced. This site's a one of a kind, and for that reason we wanted to see if y'all could snoop around a bit on the site and provide us with a little feedback on what you like and what you think could change. Thanks.

Exactly. It's not worth the cash, IMO, from watching the free videos. Of course, if the subscription ones are much better, it might be worth it, but are they?

Not really sure if this helps you out that much; it's mostly arguing.

It seems expensive, why do you need the money? To pay for the site or pay the makers. If it is to keep the site up maybe you can make it free and ask for a small donation from users.

I think that it would be a good site for coaches, but is not at all practical for players. $10 a month appeals to only a very select consumer base with a decent amount of pocket change to expend. I would say $30 a year would be the highest a site like this could charge. The resources are valuable no doubt, but really most valuable to coaches. If this site could market to a wider audience, I think that it would be a huge success. E-lacrosse already provides free high-bandwith game videos, which most are very satisfied with. Inter-lax needs to find a way to compete with them to be successful. Nationally, lacrosse has not yet become a big enough sport for a site like that to explode. It's simply too specialized and expensive.

I agree with fossil8412.
GeorgiaMiddie2 - You are on the right track.... it's ridiculous to try and provide a service for the lax community that costs money out of your pocket and puts no money back in -- so it's ideal that you're trying to make some sort of income to cover the cost of hosting and labor to construct the site. Keep in mind, however, that the audience you are appealing to is limited right now, and you're going to have to offer more than what you have to keep the lax club intrested (compared to the competition). Consider adverstisement on more popular websites that average lacrosse viewers frequent (such as elacrosse.com, laxworld.com, lax.com, lacrosse.com, uslacrosse.org, laxscout.com, insidelacrosse.com, lacrosseforums.com, etc.).
Let's say there are 200,000 active/semi-active lax players nationwide....half of those players (100,000) are online and half of THOSE online players m(50,000) frequent lacrosse websites, and you appeal to 50% (25,000) of the audience you're targeting, and 1 out of 10 of those people become your customers in a year (2,500), that's 2,500 customers paying 30 bucks a year to have access to videos, scouting rescources, pictures, updates, RAFFLES, emails, other advertising, (and all the other stuff you need to be a competitive website) etc.... That's 75,000 dollars a year in your pocket to cover hosting/site construction, advertising your site, labor and whatever else you want. That's really not bad. The sport is growing like wildfire.
You're trying to spread the game on a worldwide level and that's friggin' awesome. If every lax player had your love of the game and enthusiasm, we'd be the world's most popular sport by now... Soon enough we'll be there. Keep leading the way.

I'm a fairly new player (about 3 months), and although I don't have the full membership anymore (the price is a little steep), the video quality, instruction, and players are about as good as you can get. It's been the best source I can find.

Yeah i watched all the videos. John Christmas (I think that's his name) and Kyle Harisson are definately good sources of information. I like the face-off video by Kyle Harisson the best and the hitch that John Christmas does along with an inside roll is an awesome idea.

GeorgiaMiddie2,
I think that Inter Lax is useful to younger players' parents who wants their children to learn the basics. There could be useful tips for more experienced players, but I find the subscription fees too much to even see what they have to offer. But, without supbscription, I will give some +/-
Positive:
-Can watch videos over and over again
-Cost is only $9.95 USD a month/$99 a year
-MUCH cheaper than a camp
-Access to different types of libraries
-Watch and practice at the same time
Negatives:
-You don't know what you get untill you pay
-Might lack information seeked
-Videos do not answer questions, or atleast I don't think they do...
-No free pennie/T-Shirts that go along with a subsciption
-Not Hands-on
Well, you asked for some feedback, so there ya go!
PS-We both live in Georgia, but I take it you are not looking to do a program like this, but since your in Georgia, Trident Lacrosse has something called Sticktensity. I was wondering if this is the same thing as Inter Lax.

Exactly, I thought that move was brilliant and can't wait to use it in a game.

I just looked at it and got the two week free membership. I've started playing lacrosse about two months ago, so the site is a wealth of information for me. I'm contemplating on weather or not to put out the money for more vids. because everything is so high quality.
Something to think about: Mabey they could have a feature where you can download the videos to your computer when your a paid memeber, that way you don't have to wait for the film to load.

Not worth it.
Our coach subscribed and burned us all dvd's of the videos, and while there are definitely interesting ideas from the players (harrison, polanco, christmas) they won't add anything to an already experienced players game. If you're a novice and willing to spend some dough, you'll like what you see... BUT... I'd recommend the trial version, not the full subscription.

I signed up for the monthly subscription service ($9.95/month) back in July. I have been unable to view the material (most likely my fault). I have emailed the 2 addresses listed under "Contact Us" and have never recieved any response. I have called the telephone number listed on the site and left messages, but have never received a return call. The gist of the story is that I have been trying to cancel my subscription since October and can't get it done. All I know to do is to dispute the monthly charge each month when it hits the credit card.

I know this is adelayed response - I have recently checked out Inter-Lax an think it quite possibly is complete crap. In the first place - if you are trying to grow a sport, why charge for this kind of info? Secondly, I couldn't even get most of the sample videos to run. And last but not least - there is a completely free site www.kudda.com where there is great info for everyone
and it's absolutely free. Did I mention it was free?
