Ok everybody don't worry this isnt another thread asking if you can use crosslace as sidewall.

Anyway I was thinking when string trad or a custom is there really a point to stringing sidewalls. I know you would need it for mesh. But for customs or trad you could just connect the nylon directly to the head.

Just a thought

i pretty sure you could but i think it wears out a lot faster. try it though.

I've done it before and it works fine. It does fray more though. It keeps the pocket from shifting.

it would work but its easier to string a custom with a sidewall and it offers some nice variations. plus as stated wearing would be quicker.

wouldn't the head possibly break easier? MY thinking is that instead of the force being dispersed on the sidewall string it would go right to the plastic which would in turn break the head

yeah thered be more pressure on the head. it could snap easier

How would the force be exterted into the sidewall strings? That makes no sense at all. There is no way a piece of string will absorb enough to significantly protect the head.

I only use sidewalls in customs for looks. Like green sidewalls and a blue and white pocket.
