View Full Version : A dream that had a cool concept

I had a dream about pocket replacements. Like Gait has released or is going to release the pre-formed mesh pockets.

Well in my dream Warrior made preformed trad pockets. It was like trakker (but it had real leathers) but it came in different customs and each one had a different size spacing between each leather.
And it already had a semi-deep, broken in pocket. And when you strung the outer crosslace you could make it really deep or keep it semi-deep.

Now does anyone else think this is a good idea? I think it would be cool if there was preformed, real leather customs.

they would have to be different depending on the head though. like you couldnt use one of those for a P2 then use the same one on like a matrix or some other unpinched head.

Thats what got me thinking, but the outer crosslace could fix that buy making it tighter or looser.

NNHSfog37 & NNHStas21 has been doing this for several years.

Good idea, not original.

I actually found a really good way to do this, I don't know if it is original, but you can do it yourself, What you do is run a topstring through the top loops of the stick (just like mesh, and loop the leathers around the topstring (not to the head) then cut 1 diamond off of a piece of mesh for both sides and string it to the sidewall. Then string your pocket to the mesh diamonds and anchor all of your crosslace to the leathers (as opposed to the head) that way, all you have to do to remove the pocket is unlace the topstring and remove the sidewall string

if i'm not mistaken, a company released several traditional variants that could be added/removed from a head.. not sure if it was gait, but it def. was different than the trakkkkker..

I think the concept has since gone by the wayside though

Yes, but then you would loose the satisfaction of finshing the last knot on your own custom, and you would kill a company like Jima, which isn't good after how much they've done for us.

I am actually working on doing that right now. I strung a pita up with a topstring like am17 sometimes does. I also taped the leathers on the bottom back so they formed a loop you can put a bottom string on. I am still kinda stuck on how to do they sidewalls so it can be removed. My plan is to string a trad pocket in a stick like that except I will tape the sidewall to the siderail so I can take it off and move what head its on. I really suck at explaining but I might be able to get pics if I could find my stinkin camera.

I do that with trad's. I use a sidewall system, and top string, and you cna easily take it out.

what is so hard about stringing a regular trad pocket?
