hey, wondering if anyone could help me with a drill problem. We do a drill where we have a middie halfway down the field. He gets the ball and runs it upfield, where there are 4 d-men and 4 attack. The idea is that one of the d-men slides and you pass to the guy he's no longer covering. But, I tend to either pass to early or wait too long to decide that the d-man is going for me, by which point my attackman is probably three feet behind me. Anyone have any tips on when to pass in a drill like this, how to practice, or how to throw an accurate pass sideways?
you dont want to pass until you draw a slide. if you dont draw a slide, start to push it towards the goal until you draw a slide. once the slide comes towards you, then dump the ball off to the open attackman

Yeah what Dose said is right. But first you should yell at your coach for putting in 4 d and 4 attack because that will most likely never happen. Anyway the idea is for the attack to set up in a L. You run to the goal like your going to score and then when you draw the top attackmens d-man you throw it to him. If he doesnt slide score. Then after you had made that pass the next d-man will draw and the attackmen will thor it to the open man and so-on.

This is how it would work
*= D
^=attack
m= midi
----M------
----------
---*^-----
-------*-----
^-*----^-----
Top D goes to middle. Then depending on what side, exp if m comes from left the top d goes to him, right d would slide up and the left d would slide between the two attack men and vise versa.
You would want to pass as soon when the defenseman is commited to get you. Around 5 yards off and hes rushing for a pokecheck. If you do beat your d man and still have the ball, shoot =P.

Wait for the draw then dump it the ball to the point A-man. Keep sprinting and maybe you'll have a give-n-go. What grade are in anyways?
