In a win did a flip with under two minutes left and shot but did not make it. That was his "move", but over shadowing that was the 6 goals and 1 assist in the game. Only need 6 more points to break bros record! Congrat to Mike for a great college carrer in the Dome!

well, that's pretty much what powell did. if you can do the flip and pull off the goal, you outdid mike.

i was there and i thought it was pretty obvious when he was going to do it. it was a 5-4 situation so umass had to play a box and just after the fight steve miller the referee went to talk to powell to tell him to be careful.

I was there it was spectacular...anyone who wants to diss him can step up and pull that sh** themselves. SICK SICK SICK...so what if he didn't make the goal. He has given SU fans a great ride for 4 years we will miss the Powell family for a few years here for sure. Great Game... Great move... good luck to all the seniors on the team awesome way to end it in "the loud house of pain" you will be greatly missed!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm not taking anything away from mike. it was amazing and everything, but if you can pull the flip and score the goal, it'd be much better. personally, i'd like to try that out some time. but i can't land on my feet..i don't wanna get paralyzed or anything like that.

how many points until he breaks the single-season record
WarriorLax22

he needed 69 at the beginning of the year, and with the UMass game, he now has 64. 5 to tie, 6 to break. he's not only going to break the record, he's going to annihilate it. i think 300+ points for the career. 19 to make it 301.
I would have been impressed if he had flipped over someone or if his shot was released in mid-flip while he was inverted. Otherwise, it was useless. One of the UMass seniors should have cleaned Mikey's clock. What does a senior have to worry about... being suspended? It's his last game.

well one killing or paralising mike and 2 they had 2 penalties so they were playing a 2-2 box

yeah, that is pretty stupid. do something 'cause you have nothing to lose? can you imagine the amount of chaos would be unleashed if people took the same standing as you just did?
Some of you must be taking my post out of context. "Cleaning his clock" doesn't mean diving into his knees to tear some ligaments or poking the butt end of the stick to gouge his eye. I was talking about good old enforcement.
As for "unleashed chaos," have some of you never seen NHL, NFL, NLL, MLL, ...hell even MLB??? There are cheap shots, and then there is enforcement (admittedly, a fine line between the two). In NHL, the occaisional hockey fight is considered acceptable enforcement (I don't want lax to go this way, I only bring it up as an example), same as hard hitting body and board checking.
In MLB, a pitcher may intentionally hit a batter with a pitch if the batter crowds the plate too much. It's his way of saying, "back off." Conversely, if a pitcher hits one too many batters, the batter may retaliate by rushing the mound and starting a fight with the pitcher.
Couple years ago, Terrell Owens of the SF 49'ers scored a TD against the Dallas Cowboys on Dallas' home field. Owens ran to the center of the 50 yd line, where the Dallas star is, and began pointing at the logo and disrespecting the fans and opponents. One of the Cowboys' linebackers ran in full sprint and knocked Owens down.
My point is, there are times when it is worth it to take a penalty, like when your opponent is going heavy on the showboating, trash talking, whatever and needs to be put back in line. There are times when you need to make him think twice about his behavior.

yeah, maybe the next time a d-man pisses me off, i should shoot him in the head or chest (like someone else on this board likes to do) to "put him back in line."

UM*** played the whole game dirty. they broke Vallone's jaw last season so there was some payback due this game. Mike needs 5 to tie and 6 to break the record....no doubt he WILL pull it off. And no that wasn't me during the shootout

i definitely used to do that and it works too...you just gotta make it look convincing, wait til he's right in front of the goal...
