like in my league the good numbers are usually... 7, 17, 20, 22
like everyteam we played had a "#7" or a "#17" nd so on

I'm gonna go ahead and say it's incidental. Not many kids I know or have played with pick numbers because it's like, the chosen number. They just try and grab a number that they've played with most of their career.

probably b/c kids might pick a number of a guy they really idolize. so just take 22 for example b/c its the powells and thats easy. the powells are amazing, so some kids will want to be like them. usually, the starters/good players get first choice on numbers so there is one way #22 might happen to be on a lot of good players. also if somebody is idolizing a certain lacrosse player you could say that more often than not he is pretty into lacrosse and is probably working hard at getting better, and therefore is good.

its probably like a domino effect kind of thing. if one kid who wears #71 is good, then another kid will want to wear #71 because it is associated with being good. and then all the kids who are good will want to wear #71, while the kids that suck usually will let it be picked by a good kid.

i think part of that is true, but I'm not sure if I would agree with the statement over all. There are kids who pick numbers for those reasons, I would agree, but sometimes you just pick a number because its like a family number or something like that. like i wear 22 (and I'm a girl so yea it's different) and i didnt pick it because of the powells or anything, although i knew they also had that number as did Gait, but my dad had that number in college and that's why I wear it. I think sometimes a person picks a number for a personal reason and feels they have something to prove or live up to (not because some famous guy wears it) and then just works their tail off to be a good player. Not to say I'm some great player because I couldn't tell you. I'm pretty good, I guess. What I'm saying is, that yea I agree about the whole wearing a number that's associated with a good player, somebody you look up to, but I don't think its always somebody famous.

number 22 is usually pretty good on every team just cause its a powell number and when the best seniors get first choice it goes quick

I wear 11 because I think it looks cool on the back of a jersey, but I do notice that some numbers sre usually better, or worse. If we see a mismatch we call out 30 because we played a team and #30 was horrible.

I usually wear number 8 in all sports, its always been my number for some reason. This year our coach ordered new uniforms and he didn't order a number 8 so i had to had to choose something else and allt hat was left over was either 19 or 22 so i decided number 19. I usually like the Single digit numbers instead of the double digit numbers for some reason

haha same here our whole defense unit somehow ended up with 40's.. me 41.. then i had 42 in crease and 43 for right side.. our best defender tho was 22

YEAH I play attack and I'm 9

but no that trend doesn't really happen..atleast not to the teams I play..

our best players--besides myself-- are 2, 3, 4, 5, 7....our highest number is like 20 and starters/returners get first pick and we all like low numbers?

Is it just cause most teams get there uniforms numbered 1-24 or 1-30, depending on the number of players, so there are only so many numbers to choose from. When i played youth lax we had numbers 1-18 to pick from, so you tend to stay with a number and it is going to be a lower number.

Best players I know wear numbers 8, 7, 22, and 23... i also were 7 as did the best beginer who got my jersey I wore last year. I always pick number seven or number 15 those are my numbers... Also the guy that had number eight wanted seven but another guy got it first because he sikips practices even though he is the best in the league.
