yeah, the stx av8 is a great head, so is the gait icon, but buy off lax.com or anywhere but lacrosse.com, they suck!

Go to your local dunhams or something, and pick up an icon or a av8 as unta said. You wont be dissapointed with the icon, some people take it over any top head. As gait is marketing the icon as a beginners stick, any sports retailer would carry it as its considered a "beginners stick"

not bad, but i think the icon is seriously the best beginner head. if you have the money buy the icon, then buy an f10 shaft from a friend or something. i know it's not simple, but that would be a good beginner set up. when i started i bought a savage. bad choice.

The AV8 is an awsome beginner head. Its pretty much the proton with different side walls, and 30 dollars cheaper.

All according to where you are in California you can go to Sportmart, Play it Again Sports, or Big 5 to get the AV8 for 29.99 complete. At Big 5 they usually also have the Icon for the same price. That way you can test it out before you buy, get a great price and don't have to wait

Check out the review of the Icon at www.laxnation.com. I got an AV8 (just because I was a little curious) and it's a great head. If you know someone who knows how to pinch and restring it, go ahead and get it from www.lacrossedigest.com for like 26 bucks and let 'em work on it. I restrung mine and it's a thing of beauty...
