View Full Version : STX d-poles stronger then short sticks?
Like the title says, I'm curious as to are they stronger or not. I ask this because, I have a STX al6000 pro defense shaft, and the same thing on offense shaft. Heres the thing, while messing around I put some dents in the short stick that I never use, just hitting a wood stake in the ground. I had been using my d-pole the WHOLE season, not a single, tiny, microscopic dent, instead, the metal just chips away. So yesterday me and my friend were messing around with it, and I decided to see if my shaft (d-pole) would ever get dented hitting the other one, so he was going for a ground ball and I did a huge check where a few times on it, first the short stick dented, then bent, then broke (after about 30 times hitting the damn thing)
So heres the thing, the short stick snapped in half and the d-pole doesn't have anything but a few marks on it, not dents, no chips.

ive heard of some companies making their dpole walls a little thicking causing it to be stronger but idk if that is true for sure or not because i have never personally measured the thickness or anything

ive heard something like this. thicker shafts for D. although i cant believe it did not get a single mark on it. a kid on my teams shaft bent 90 degrees during a game. ill show you pics soon.
The only physical damage I see are little scrapes here and there, no dents at all. Ok, so I compared the wall size and the D-Pole is about 3-4 times thicker then the short stick. No wonder.

Interesting, because scandium d-poles also seem to last longer than scandium short sticks. I thought that poles were thicker, but I was never totally sure. Until now.

My stx axe (D) has like 2 dents in it from the whole season. both are small and i think they are from seeing if it would dent.
A kid on my team uses a stx 6000 and it doesnt have one dent, i think he made the dents on my d pole

simple solution, buy a longstick, then cut the sucker in half to get 2 thick attack shafts! lol no or just buy a harrow. and eliminate dents altogether

you could do that but companies ar making there d pole 58" not 60" so you cant do that any more at least that is what i have been hearing. so instead of getting 2 30" you get 2 29" which is not a big difference but wouldnt that make it illegal

If they make it 58, cut it in half and add one of those STX butt caps. They add like an inch
