I just got back from a Dark Star Orchestra concert, and it was amazing. They redo set lists that the Dead played while they were on tour and stuff. These guys played stuff like China cat sunflower, and Jack straw, and Dancing in the streets. The two lead singers sounded exactly like Bob Weir and Jerry, and the music IMO was better cause the banded wasn't as fed up with drugs. Also, almost the whole crowd was high. I have this awesome video of this guy dancing behind us. Its freaking hilarious.

My first time seeing DSO, they played the set of 6/19/77 Winterland--the show used for the first couple discs of the massive box set they put out around six years ago.

I used to be a bootleg collector, and I played that show for over 2 years in my car--nonstop. I burned the show for my friends six years ago, and they still talk about that Winterland set, and DSO played that set from that show the first time I ever saw them. It was phenomenal.

I really like it how they recreate an exact show that the dead performed, the same setlist and everything.
