yep so i finally purchased and set up my cage.. aside from shooting, anyone have any particular drills or tactics to get me a better shooter and such..

today 2 friends came over and we did 2 on 1's,v-cuts, and then a drill where one guy takes a knee another guy runs by and receives a ball and then the other guy defends the guy receiving the ball as he attempts to shoot it..

thanks guys

Get a few friends over and play posts and crossbar only for goals, it'll help your accuracy

im assuming you play that just as you would with basketball except the net is 6x6 how would you record your shots, would you shoot at the same spot on the net or something?

get one of those tarps to put in the middle where the goalie is. Or you could get something like a beer keg and hang that in the middle

A good drill to do is to get duct tape and make a checkerd boared on the posts of the goal. Put the duct tape on one post and stick it to the parallel post and once you make enough and do it horizontally then you can aim for the holes.

!--------! kind of like this(really crappy picture) except with vertical strips
!--------! of tape also

thats an awesome idea, im gonna try that.

One me and my friends do is one person stands in front of the cage (or to the side or wherever) and the other person stand opposite from them. Then, the person without the ball does a quick v cut. after he cuts, the person with the ball gives a good pass to the cutter, and the cutter has to call where hes gonna shoot the ball and then quick stick it there. It really helped me with quick sticking

Call a corner, shoot on the run, bounce shot into a corner, make something up. then the next person has to do the same thing and get pretty close to it. Just like basketball.

Or buy the corner targets.

- is the goal
. are balls

set up the drill like this

......-
...........

...........

...........

scoop one ball with your stick in the outside hand, shoot then run past the next ball switch hands turn around scoop up the ball shoot it and go on to the next ball, try to aim for the same place with all the balls

this drill works on ground balls, accuracy, keeping your head up, and is a pretty good workout espically if you do it a bunch of times.

I made a shooting trainer out of tarp and ziptied it on to my goal.
Then I cut holes out of the tarp like the G-Money (http://www.lacrosse.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Section_Id=2011&pcount=&Product_Id=150228) and duct taped around the cuts so it would have less chance of shredding and it rocks
