So I just got back from sonic and they have some awesome milkshakes. How do you make these at home, whenever I try they never come out tasting anywhere near as good. Does anyone have the golden ratio to make them taste like the restaurants?

i dont really make milkshakes ...but for a smoothie .... ike 2 scoops of ice cream ...a bunch of frozen fruit ( if u use fresh fruit then use a few icecubes as well ) ...a little bit of yoghurt, and some fruit juice .... blend it all together ...and more icecream and fruit if its not thick enough ... or add more juice if its too thick

I make alot of milkshakes. Take the ice cream, and milk and some vanilla syrup. Then blend it. If it's too thick, and milk, if it's too thin, add more ice cream. That's how I make them and they turn out good.

How many shakes do you want? If you want 1 I'd say 2 full scoops, 4 seconds of milk pour, and use the vanilla syrup according to taste. Use the blend setting until it stops, then see if it's too thick or thin.

just experiment..lol. thats how i figured out. either way, its not gonna taste bad, cause its all good when combined, and if it is not how you want it, alter it.

Talking about Sonic is forbidden in Michigan, seeing as how we don't have one. You are so lucky to live close to one. Anyways, they have amazing milshakes, and Cherry Limeades, pretty much anything there is awesome. As for making them, I just throw stuff together and hope it all turns out tasting good. Usually it works, but if not it still tastes pretty good.

McDonalds milkshakes have plastic in them... yum. So, like, add plastic?

Actually, there is no milk in a McDonald's "Milk" Shake. If you look at the menu, no where is the word "milk" mentioned. Their shakes are, believe it or not, potato based. Strange but true!

use chocolate soy milk about 12 ounces, 4 scoops of ice cream( big scoops), and tbsp peanut butter

sooo good and has a lot of protein because of the soy milk

I am pretty sure that no matter what ratio of ice cream to milk it will not turn out like in a restaurant. I believe like the first or second post said it is all in the machine/blender.

Sonic is awesome. i have only been there once when I was road trippin', but it was awesome. Not one that I know of in Jersey either, but they advertise all of the time on tv.
