Do you pay dues or a fee to play for your school team? What does it cost to play for your high school team? Are you a club team or varsity? What equipment is supplied by the team...helmets, gloves, uniforms, etc. Is this a boys team or girls team? What sport is "king" at your school? Does not mean they are the best, but they get everything they ask for.

We are a boys club team and we pay $400 a season in dues to play. The club/team supplies uniforms. Football is king at my school, they suck, but they get everything. The football coaches get pissed if you play lax.

we are a varsity program but get no assistance whatsoever from the school so we py $275 and provide our own gear. but some parent donated $1000 for next year and apperently the district is supposed to be giving us money too next year so the dues will be a lot lower if we dont get cusom helmets

football rules everything at my school, then basketball. both teams were decent this year

We have to pay $150 if our levy didn't pass, it would cost $1000 for each varsity sport. I'm happy to say that our levy passed. I also play on a girls team.

Ah, here in Ontario the cost for our varsity boys team was $50.00 and everything is supplied... by the players. Except jerseys, which the school covers and keeps.

Comparitively though, since Ontario lacrosse is more club oriented you would end up playing 300-500$ each for most larger centres + travel costs. And the players cover all their equipment needs...

Varsity team. 150, or if you played another sport earlier in the year it is 110. They only supply jerseys and shorts. I think it's a pretty reasonable price.

We don't pay anything, we get helmets jerseys and shorts and if we need en thing else we get crappy stuff but we have to give stuff back t end of season, school only gives 1000$ to the team so we do fundraisers and stuff.

It is free at my school, unless you buy equipment through the school, and lacrosse is the main sport and we get most of the good stuff.

Varsity sport, although it is not a school sponsored sport, so its more of a club, although bearing the high school's name. Pay about 500, and get nothing but jerseys and shorts.....which is included in the fee....

its free at our school. We got a grant from US Lacrosse that give us around 40 sets of gear (20 boys/ 20 girls). Though that was this year, and last year everybody had to buy their own stuff, which didn't bother me. But yeah, Free to play. And at my school... Football rules as well.

its free to play at our school but we have all of the old gear like bucket helmets and the old brine gloves so everyone buys our own gear and the school wont let us keep anything and baseball is king at our school the school pays for their hoodies and new warmups everyyear that they keep

For our team we have to pay for everything since our school is so gay ans wont sponsor us at all. We took the cardinal off school bumper stickers for a logo and three or four years later(this year) they told us we couldnt use their logo. WHAT THE HECK!?! so we have to buy absolutley everything

hey penguin, do you go to fesenden or whatever it's called? That school is damn expensive.

05-18-2006, 09:17 PM
At the beginning of the school year my school collects dues from anyone that is going to play a sport or be in a club that year. Its cheap tho like $35.00. Our school supplies jerseys and shorts, then aside from that each yeah buys something as a team. Last year each person got a pair of custom ventilators, but each player had to buy their own pair.

I am not sure of what is the king sport in my school. Football as usally gets a lot of attention, but they are not that good...kids on the team are cool tho. Soccer and Lacrosse probably are the two king sports because they both do the best and get the most players of any sport in their season.

I play on a boys varsity high school team and the school pays for everyting except for sticks and cleats. All of our stuff is decent and we just got a higher budget passed so it only can get better.

500 cuz we are club. its so annoying, we wouldnt have to pay nothing but the gay football coach would let the school sponcor it.

we dont have to pay anything. my school is fairly rich (private school), and they put more money into the lacrosse program than any other sport. they provide all the equipment, and will even give you a stick if you need one. ya, at the end of the season we have to return it all, but who cares. i got to use my kryptolyte d-pole for free all season.

Club team Varsity and JV

100.00 for Indoor
200.00 for Fall
450.00 for Spring

We have to pay for uniforms.balls, equipment, fields, lights, grass seed, referees, trips, transportation.food. If there is a charge we pay it.

We have 21 kids on Varsity and 13 to 20 on JV. Every year we are in the hunt for a state championship. It sucks we could win every year if we didn't have to worry so much about paying for everything. this is not what HS sports is supposed to be about.

ShermanLax607
05-30-2006, 04:21 PM
It sort of surprises me because I haven't ever heard of kids having to pay for a varsity sport, especially lacrosse. Where I play, it always was/is free (boys Varsity/JV/Freshmen). THe school provides Varsity Team Gloves that you receive and a black helmet if you need one. They also provide the Jerseys and shorts for both home and away uniforms. We also can order like shirts and shorts if we want that has our lacrosse logo on it, but we dont pay to play or 'borrow' equipment for a season.

we have to pay a registration fee and its 300 for your first sport and 50 for the next two so football ends up being 300 and lacrosse ends up being 50 and this year they are changing it to 100 for any additional sports so lacrosse will be 100
