All state as a sophomore....that is quite impressive. Now all you can aim for is all-american for junior year.
That's All-Conference. All-State has not been determined until the end of today. But, congrats on being All-Conference....who knows, maybe you'll be selected All-State, as well.

It is a great accomplishment as a sophomore to be recognized for anything.. Although, I was looking up some stats and if it's correct you only have 2 pts this whole season... How did you manage to make all state with only 2 pts.. We have some players that put in 50-60 pts and they struggle to make 1st team all district..
Some others- All american as a sophomore- Max Quinzani - broke the MA record for pts scored this season has something like 530 or around there.. Going on to attempt to defeat casey powells HS national record. He's going to duke i believe unless he's decided to go elsewhere.

How is one awarded an all district/all state/ all conference position anyways? Is it voted upon, or is there an actual method?

In NC, all the coaches meet and vote. I'm not sure if you aren't allowed to nominate one of your own players or how it goes. But they all met last Saturday. I'm pretty sure its always the Saturday before the championship game.

I was voted First-Team All-Ohio senior year (D3) and missed out on D3 Goalie Of the Year by a few votes. Both times we played the kid who won (from one of our rival schools, no less) we beat them and I had more saves than he did, both games. They also had a kid who was Offensive Player of the Year (D2) the year before, and won it again my senior year. Meh.

Yes, thats me. Though I really dont like the indoor in Memphis.
And for why I got all state with only 2 pts. its because I got a unprecadented 85% for face-offs and 113 ground balls

Ya, it is. There have been some good players come out of Tennessee. Ben Bailey (Navy) Matt McIntosh (UNC) Clint Brakebill (Towson) Dan Gibson (Notre Dame) .

im not disagreeing with you, but getting, even all Met in my area is nearly impossible, the list this year read pretty much: g prep, g prep, g prep, landon, landon, good counsel, and a few more but you get the picture
if getting all Met is nearly impossible then getting all state in MD pretty much is, your competing with the BEST talent in the entire united states (except mabie in new york)
that is not to deminish your accomplishment, its amazing that you did it as a sophmore, i played with a a guy over the summer from Memphas university school and he was legit, there are good players everywhere, but honestly it does get harder to get awards depending where you live.

I'm Honorable Mention All-American for this year. Missed 1st team by 5 votes. Hopefully next year I'll get the first team, who knows.
The complete list should be out mid-late July.

Only two points is still really, well, unheard of as an all-stater... 113 groundballs is good, though a lot of people can accomplish that an not get all-state. 85% on FOs is where you really shine. Thats pretty dang incredible, but 1st team??? Geez! Congrats on your accomplishments; who do you play for and who else got 1st team all state middie in TN?

to get all-state its competing against others in ur STATE, thats why its all state, not all american...or do you mean that everyone in MD is better then everyone else in other states except New York, which is not true (ex. Connolly and Quinzani)

Yes thats what he means... And though quite bias, that statement does have a good amount of truth to it. First team MD all state could easily romp most other state's first teams.

It is 1st team all state for face-offs, not midfield.
