The new color is... Black. I have been so used to white apple computers for the last couple of years. But it seems like the new color is black.

I hope apple goes for some new colors. Like the Original iBook(clam shell) and original iMac came in different colors.

That looks nifty.
The black ipod looks so much better than the white ipod, so it's only natural it comes to their computers.

I'm more of a fan of the all white but the black is pretty cool. I tend to stick to silver though..oh well. All apple's products are very well designed and look great.

The black looks ugly as sin, and on top of that they only allow you to use a "glossy" screen! HELLO! MONITOR GLARE!
Apple dropped the ball with this, like it will matter though.

The glossy screens help with color. They show richer colors and blacker blacks- good I suppose if you watch a lot of DVD's on your laptop.
Also, I pretty sure I'm getting a MacBook (the 2 GHz, 1GB mem, 100GB HD, and with iWorks)for college -do you think I need to upgrade to the Pro?

The pro lines of apple most likely will stay silver while the consumer computers will most likely become available in black and white. I wouldn't be surprised to see the next Imac's to come in white and black. I definately prefer the silver over white or black.
The glossy screen can have it's advantages in certain circumstances. Depending on where your computer is and how it's used it can be really great or really bad. It's a good option to have for the consumer to decide on.
Smooth, what are you majoring in? The Macbook should be fine for almost all of your needs unless your planning on doing some really serious work on it and even then the macbook wouldn't be a bad choice. I have the macbook pro but I'm slightly compulsive about having one of the best computers out and wasn't about to wait for the macbook to be released anyways. Well, anyways, for most usage the Macbook should be fine especially with the specs that you have listed.

i completly agree with you. i also kinda like the white alittle more than teh black, jsut cuz the white is so unique to mac and any other comupter can be black, so idk. im jsut a fan of teh orignal.

Also black shows finger prints easier, like the PSP.
Can you put Boot Camp on the MacBook or just the MacBook Pro.
Yes you can use Boot Camp on it. It has an Intel processer.

I ordered a new MacBook yesterday and sold my Powerbook and iBook. Boot Camp convinced me to switch to the new Intel processors.

I think the macbooks are sexy as hell...in black that is.
Yes the glossy screen might have more glare, but have you seen the colors? Insane.

I know this is older, but i just got my new black macbook today and it is amazing. We have a white one that is two years old and this new one just blows it out of the water.

Obviously it does, It's a dual core. Good job paying 200 more for the blackness though!
